Daily Inspiration: Meet Le’Shay Misha

Today we’d like to introduce you to Le’Shay Misha.

Hi Le’Shay, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m a 26 years old Philly native. Growing up to know me is to know I’ve always loved the camera, being in front of the camera, behind the scenes, scenery photos, aesthetic photography has always been my thing. I remember being eight and getting my first Kodak Polaroid camera for Christmas, after that I was hooked. I took pictures of any and everything, hence my eye for creativity and aesthetically pleasing content. I tried out modeling, honestly it wasn’t my thing, I noticed being behind the scenes was where I found myself most interested. I fell in love with styling, curating ideas, concepts and bringing them to life. Being a Creative Visionary was always a hidden talent that everyone saw and I just pushed off for years because I had other things going on & another brand to run. But 2022, I said this year is about tackling any and everything, it’s about letting go of self-doubt, doing what I want to do, doing what I love. And here I am, being completely booked for the month weeks in advance, working with clients from other states who travel just to have the LM Experience, and honestly just being completely happy with what I do and 1000% in my element.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Stepping into this field was not easy at all. But was it hard? No, however I questioned a lot. What if I’m not booked as much as I expect? What if I’m not trusted because I’m new in the game, technically. Boy was I wrong, I had my first photo shoot, which went pretty okay, then I had another, and that was even better, by the time I had my third shoot I was very well seasoned, ready, and everyone who saw my potential before, even those who didn’t knew how I was coming.

Being a Creative Visionary collaborations are somewhat necessary with being new in the industry, and for me that was another thing I was a tad bit skeptical about. I’m an introvert mixed with a little social butterfly, so reaching out to work with models, or photographers, or makeup artists, at first was was like “ehhh, what if they don’t respond”, but now only three months in, there are people reaching out to work with ME, models are asking to be managed by me, and big name brands are awaiting a collaboration.

I say that to say: Keep applying pressure, keep going hard, even when you feel like no one is watching, trust me. They see you. KEEP GOING NO MATTER WHAT! That’s what gonna separate you from the rest.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As I stated early on, I am a Creative Director, Visionary, and Stylist. My brand is Le’Shay Misha Productions. It’s my name. So behind my name, I will go 100x harder!

What sets me apart from others is that I don’t follow trends. Everything I do as a Creative Director is authentic, it’s original, it’s the blueprint, not the duplicate. And I take pride in that. I take pride in knowing my clients WILL be satisfied, from the moment we have our very first consultation to the very last minute of our photoshoot when I say my infamous “ITS A WRAP”.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The three most important lessons I’ve learned is that one, working alone is okay. I used to think “the more the merrier” but no, less is the best. Having a loyal, passionate, dedicated, pure and genuine team is the best thing I could have during this whole process. Two, creating bonds with your clients, get to know them, get to know how they’re feeling, what makes them feel good, make sure everything is about them, down to the music you play while shooting, make sure they are comfortable when the model is happy the turnout is better, mark my words. And lastly, be neat, be prepared, be on time. From the moment my clients are booked, they are along with me every step of the way, everything is set up perfectly and neatly so that once we arrive at the shoot everything is smooth, everyone is caught up and ready to work.
