Hi Lorenzo and Kyle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
ASPA Home Inspections was founded nearly 10 years ago by Lorenzo McGhee with a simple goal, to build a family owned business that could be passed down for generations. What started as a legacy project quickly became a trusted inspection company rooted in integrity and service.
The early years weren’t easy. When the housing market crashed, home sales slowed and growth became challenging. But with persistence and a commitment to being a reliable home inspection company, ASPA continued to move forward.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all, ASPA has been a journey built on grit, faith, and constant learning. When we first launched, we didn’t have a blueprint or a mentor in the industry to lean on. As a Black-owned inspection company, we had to earn trust one client at a time. There were slow months, unexpected expenses, and moments where we questioned if people would truly see the value we bring.
Balancing ASPA while also working full-time in school leadership added another layer of challenge. There were days that started at 6 AM in the school building and ended in a crawlspace at 8 PM. But each obstacle made us sharper, more detailed, and more focused. Every tough moment reinforced the mission: to build a company that not only inspects homes, but creates opportunities for our community.

ASPA specializes in residential and commercial property inspections, with an emphasis on education, transparency, and advocacy for buyers. We’re known for our detailed reporting, clear explanations, fast turnaround times, and our ability to break complex issues down so first-time homebuyers feel confident instead of overwhelmed.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I’m most proud of two things:
1. Our commitment to accuracy and integrity we don’t cut corners and we don’t sugarcoat findings.
2. Our community-centered approach ASPA isn’t just a business; it’s a platform to expose young people in Atlanta to the inspection trade, create job pathways, and train them toward certification and entrepreneurship.
What sets us apart is our dual identity: we operate with the precision of a trained inspector and the heart of an educator. Every inspection is a chance to teach, empower, and give our clients peace of mind.
