Today we’d like to introduce you to Love Child.
Hi Love, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Sam Epstein (guitar), Elijah Haller (bass), and Aidan Babuka Black (piano) came together with Ethan Parks (drums) through a mutual admiration of good music and good times to form Love Child. We started by throwing impromptu jams in a local park and folks in the crowd kept asking what our band name was. We had no answer. After a couple months of making up different names on the spot, Love Child stuck.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
COVID-19 has definitely slowed everything down. We found it morally wrong to continue doing these jams and creating crowds of people in the heat of the pandemic. Despite COVID-19, we still managed to safely come together to rehearse and get into the studio to record a live album and three singles.

We bring funk, pop, rock and blues together to create a unique sound we call neo-rock. Each member brings a different style to the table that creates a sound accessible to all audiences.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Countless streaming services are an endless source of inspiration for art, music, and culture. One of our favorite podcasts is Broken Record with Rick Rubin. Another inspiration is a coffee table book called I Was There by Mark Paytress that documents some of the most iconic concerts in history.
