Today we’d like to introduce you to Meg Biddle Smith
Hi Meg, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi! My name is Meg and I work in both the creative space and the health space. I’m an actor & voice actor / fitness, nutrition, and mindset coach. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Dance and have been pursuing acting for the past decade. During covid, I joined a fitness program that changed my life, as well as the way I approached my career as an actress. Since that experience, I have grown more and more curious with the human being as a whole – mind, body and soul – and love helping to inspire, encourage and equip people through both the art I create and the coaching I do.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been times it has felt “easy,” as far as knowing the next right thing to do, or the next best step to take. However, there have also been moments that have really required me to take a pause, dig deep, and sit with my why for what I am doing or want to do with my life. For me, some of those moments happened during Covid, as well as during the strikes in the film and TV industry. These moments and seasons, though difficult, have been moments of deep growth for me, times to learn how to build determination, pivot, be flexible, and allow myself to be where I am, sit with the discomfort, and let curiosity, compassion, and tenderness lead.
Growth often comes through taking risks and stepping outside what feels comfortable. It challenges you, and as you evolve, you face moments that push you to stretch further—pushing past fears and stepping out of your comfort zone to be courageous and grow even more. It’s a cycle of continuous forward momentum.
These pivotal growth moments are the ones we look back on and recognize as shaping us. Some of mine have come from trying new things with my fitness business or taking classes to improve my craft—things that might feel uncomfortable, but are also things I secretly want to do, despite the fear holding me back.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I love bringing hope and healing through humor! I would say it’s a part of my ethos both as an actor and a coach!! My goal in both is to impact people to positive change! As an actress I am most proud and thankful for the comedic roles I filmed in Love on Retreat and A Perfect Christmas Pairing. Over the past year, I’ve really been leaning in to my love of comedy, exploring creative writing in this genre, and watching tv shows that really inspire my artist. As a coach, I love helping women! And honestly, women of all ages and stages – prenatal, postpartum, beginners in the gym, or seasoned vets looking to optimize. The power to help people believe in themselves and achieve their goals is truly SO REWARDING!
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Compassion, curiosity and courage. Compassion for people. You truly never know what someone is going through until you sit with someone and you let curiosity lead. And courage. Courage to listen to the still small voice within, to act not only in spite of fear, but also from an invitation of love. If we believe that we are so incredibly loved by a loving God, then what have we to fear? The waves will come, but our soul is kept.
For me – I have to meditate on these 3 words often.
