Today we’d like to introduce you to Miley Oorreel.
Hi Miley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was often told I was too skinny. It wasn’t easy as I got bullied a lot at school because of how I looked. But with my mom’s support, we started looking into modeling, and I was lucky enough to get signed by Miles Models Agency. That’s when everything changed. What used to make me feel different became something I could be proud of. Getting into modeling helped me find confidence and turn something negative into something positive.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a smooth road as I was not expecting big things from the beginning in terms of getting bookings etc. In this short period of time, I have had a lot of opportunities to model, do collaborations and runway shows.
Lovilla Santiago, the owner of Miles Models has been nothing but inspiring, supportive and kind to me. The models she chooses to work with are kind and respectful and when we are together it feels like being part of a family.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As I am 15 years old, my work besides school is modeling 🙂
I don’t have a specific specialization yet, but what I truly enjoy is runway shows.
I love the hustle and bustle of the backstage, meeting the designers, work with hair and makeup artists and the thrill of being on the runway.
I am most proud of my first runway show, which was the reveal of a debut high fashion wedding gown collection.
I don’t believe anything sets me apart from others, but I am always eager to learn, I treat everyone with respect and kindness.
