Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello Beautiful People, I’m Myia – the creator/founder of Pearls Luxury Extensions. The name derived from my fascination with pearls. Pearls are the most classic gems and are known for the glow they give. Pearls take time to develop, which correlates with the growth of my brand. I’ve had this nickname Pearling Beauty since college. I started doing hair on campus my freshman year, and my hair was always done! I always wore long silky weave down to my butt and everyone always wanted to know where I got my bundles from and if I could do their hair. I was hair-trapping out of my dorm room. I would also have my extensions for long periods of time and just change the style if I got tired of the same look. What has inspired me to keep going is my love for hair creativity and helping give women a new level of confidence when they look at themselves in the mirror. A new hairstyle is always an upgrade. My ultimate goal is to make my clients feel luxurious just like their hair.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not always been a smooth road. Some of the struggles I have run into would be price distortion, marketing services, and maintaining consistent income. These are honestly the most significant and ongoing struggles. ALL hairstylists/hair brands run into similar struggles.

I am a self-taught traveling stylist that specializes in quick weaves and handcrafted wig units. We offer quality extensions and a range of services that include: Protective Quick Weaves, Protective Sew-Ins, Lace Wig Installs, Silk Presses, and Bridal Consultations. I am most proud of my client’s loyalty. What sets my brand apart from others is that I offer a personalized, reclusive, and sufficient experience.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is to be empathetic towards my clients and insecurities with their hair.
