Hi Nadja, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Costa Rica Dream Adventures (CRDA) was founded in 1999 by Arthur Salus, after a fishing trip to Costa Rica in 1996 sparked his passion for the country. Partnering with Roys Diaz, they created CRDA to offer fully customized vacation packages with transfers, lodging, tours, and 24/7 in-country assistance. Today, with offices in Atlanta and San José, CRDA is a leading U.S. tour operator specializing in Costa Rica, dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences for travelers.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Working with both travel agents and direct consumers has been an exciting journey, allowing us to create unique experiences that bring joy and unforgettable memories to travelers.

It hasn’t always been a smooth road. The pandemic and other factors that limited travel affected us, but we’ve always prioritized the safety and comfort of our clients. Our local team provides 24/7 in-country support, ready to assist with any emergencies or special needs, ensuring travelers feel secure and cared for throughout their trip.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the Travel Industry Director at Costa Rica Dream Adventures (CRDA), overseeing both the sales and marketing teams. I’ve been with CRDA for over 13 years, and during this time, I’ve had the privilege of helping our team create truly memorable experiences for travelers.

I’m most proud of our team—they genuinely care about the experience more than the sale. Their goal is to provide amazing, personalized experiences that create lifelong memories for our clients.

What sets us apart is our ability to customize trips to each traveler’s preferences, ensuring every experience is unique. As a small business, we maintain direct contact with our clients, assigning a dedicated representative who guides them from the beginning to the end of their journey. Exceptional customer service is our top priority, and we take pride in making every trip seamless and unforgettable.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Arthur Salus, our CEO and founder, and Roys Diaz, the General Manager from our Costa Rica office who handles all the logistics, have been instrumental in my growth. Their experience and guidance helped me understand the true value of the customer experience and how providing exceptional service builds a reputation of care—something that sets us apart from larger companies that focus on volume rather than meaningful experiences.

I also want to give credit to our amazing team and clients. Our teammates’ dedication to crafting personalized experiences, along with the trust and feedback from our clients, has been essential in shaping our approach and ensuring that every traveler has a memorable, seamless journey.
