Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Jenkins
Hi Natasha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born and raised in New York. I’ve always had a love for beauty and fashion since I was a little girl. I grew up in a house filled with beauty, as my Mother was a professional Makeup artist as well. With over 20 years in the beauty industry it still brings me so much joy to provide a service that can help others. As a teen and young adult I’ve worked as a part-time makeup artist at my local Christian Dior counter, MAC Cosmetics, YSL beauty, Amani Beauty, And many others. I quickly began to receive requests from women wanting her to do their makeup outside of the store. “I enjoyed pushing limits with my artistry – playing in different colors, tones and textures. I realized how much of an impact I was making by simply doing what I enjoyed. I wanted to touch as many lives as I could with my gift. I now own a vegan cosmetics and skincare line and offer a comprehensive range of merchandise for women, men, and children. Which I laughed during the middle of a global Pandemic in 2020. My latest business venture is my Clutch Co. Dream Vision Networking Pop Ups, I’m passionate about creating opportunities for others.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing worth having comes easy. So with that being said, It def was not a smooth road. In 2016, I lost my beautiful mother at the tender age of 52 to Adult T-Cell Lymphoma, A rare cancer! – the same are condition that had also claimed my grandmother the year before. Fast forward to this year 2024, I just lost my only sister at the age of 32 from Cervical Cancer. My sister left behind 3 beautiful children ages 12, 5 & 7. The intensity of grief had a surprising effect on me, Pushing me to harness my dream of starting my own beauty brand. I launched a line of vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free liquid matte lipsticks, chapsticks, Skincare and more, And with that, Clutch Co. was born. I named my signature red lip color “Shasha,” after her beloved mom,Sharon.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
In addition to running Clutch Co., I continue my passion for beauty education and empowerment through posh, comprehensive 1 on 1 and group makeup lessons, online tutorials, and many fun group events. I also specialize in photo shoots, events, weddings, and other commissioned projects.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
No risk! No Reward! Thats my motto! Taking risks actually changed my life. Moving from a big city like New York to Atlanta with no plan and no job lined up, Showed me that walking by faith and not by sight is the only way to really win! Trust your gut, Live your truth. The universe will take care of the rest.
