Today we’d like to introduce you to Nylea Jones.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
This year has been nothing but a blessing as we have gone through this journey of building our business. NyleaMonet Productions went from being located in a two bedroom apartment in Decatur to building a studio here in Little Five Points now named The Unitx2. Moving to our own space has given us the great opportunity to grow, network and continue to build a strong brand. NMP has now collaborated with FatdawgBeatz owner of KnockHouse Studios to build a space where music, photography and videography can all be tied into one, giving our clients the opportunity to build themselves all within one space.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Going into this business has had its trials and tribulations, but this journey has been well worth it. Learning to set boundaries when it comes to business has really set the foundation for business relationships in the future. Growing in the industry, it’s hard finding where you fit in, but as you go on if you set the foundation and build your own space then others will have to find a way to fit in with you.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
NyleaMonet has always been my name but being known as “NyleaMonet, the Dope a** Photographer” warms my heart because it lets me know I’ve been doing my job all these years. I started doing photography in middle school when I joined yearbook in 2009 and from that point forward, I was always ensuring I was a part of any type of multimedia class. From working in a photography studio in the mall to now seven years later building The Unitx2 studios here in Atlanta. I can say I’m living up to the #imabefamous that I wrote in everyone’s high school yearbook. As photography is my top skill, it is the only one I specialize in as I specialize in many other fields including audio production, graphic design, and videography. My confidence in my brand and myself is what sets me apart from others simply because I believe in it and live by it.
What’s next?
As Evoni says, “It’s only up from here”. NMP and The Unitx2 has a lot in store for 2021 and the years to come with plans of dominating the music industry bringing a new sound and visual to the scene mixing The Bay with The A!
