Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela Whitfield.

Hi Pamela, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am Executive Chef Pamela Whitfield, owner/operate of Buy Your Side Catering Co in Acworth Ga.

With always a love for food and world traveling (sometimes just to eat) I decided to merge the my loves into one and become a licensed Chef.

I must admit I stepped away from a corporate job during covid and was all in. People thought I was crazy but I hated my job, and just needed an out. Cooking was it.

And here I am, going into my sixth year in business. My company has catered for several high profile celebrity clients and Aiisters but mainly we serve several prominent fortune 500 companies in and around the Atlanta area become their preferred caterer.

Hardwork, determination, professionalism, good food but more importantly, building a strong team that affords us the continued opportunities.

My favorite saying is your gift will make room for you and mine certainly has. God continues to show his face and keeps his hands on me and I am grateful.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Has it been a smooth road? Lord only knows the times that ive cried. Its like 100 miles of unpaved old country dirt roads. But, to much is given, much is required. I just keep my foot on the gas and keep driving even during the storms the rain has to end.

I wouldn’t say struggles, t call them times of adjustments. First quarrel of the year is so slow so finding creative ways to stay ahead and focused.

Clients not understanding when you have to raise prices due to higher grocery prices. This is business, I have a family. staff, bills its not personal its business. Long gone are the $10 meals. Fast food isnt even $10 anymore.

Not taking to heart that every client isnt your client and sometimes walking away even when there’s money on the table. It cant disrupt my peace.

At Buy Your Side Catering Co we offer professional catering services beautifully displayed, and cooked with love.

We’re often asked what’s your specialty? My answer is always food. Not just food but GREAT FOOD. Food that years later clients or former guests will say I remember those lambchops at a certain event in 2021 the best thing ive ever had. That’s our specialty making that first bite the one that you never forget.
