Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Mazara.
Hi Patrick, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Since my youth, I always wanted to create music but I actually began taking it serious just last year as I was watching my friend Pablo616 cook up. I was amazed by how he could express himself by just clicking in a few notes and selecting the right sound and I decided to try it out for myself. I started off using FL Studio 20 and once he taught me the basics everything else came natural to me. In my time as a producer, I learned that networking and consistency is a must have. I also feel like acknowledging that the producing game isn’t just one genre and trying to grow in various genres also helped me spread my wings because it gave me more opportunities to blow up and also mix different styles. Another thing I did was I tried to get my craft out as much as possible. Through placements, Youtube, Tiktok, and even running ads on Instagram. Due to my consistency, I’ve now had to opportunity to work with artists such as Baby Money, YN Jay, Baby Smoove, Jdot Breezy and many more.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The hardest challenge, I’d say is to stay persistent. Whether it’s finishing my beats or even sending out the beats to artists you think will never do it, I have to remind myself that I have to do it. I keep in mind that every beat is like a lottery ticket and that if I don’t put my work out there, I’ll have no way to reap the rewards. A quote I love and that had got me through hard times as well is “the day you plant the seed is not the day you eat the fruit.” As long as you keep pumping out music and delivering it anyway you can and networking, you’re bound to eventually get a placement, and they’ll just start flowing from then.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a producer who specializes mostly in Hip-Hop/Rap, specifically the Michigan music scene. I’m known for my works with Jdot Breezy, Skilla Baby, YSR Gramz, Bandgang Lonnie and more but I have plenty of other stuff on the way that I’m excited for the world to hear. As for what I’m most proud of, I’d say I’m most proud of how I’ve provided a one of one sound that acknowledges the Detroit style but that people could listen to and say “yeah this is a Zara616 beat.” What sets me apart from others is my openness to grow. I honestly just want to make good music and be a motivational figure for producers who are trying to grow but feel like they’re going nowhere because I know what that’s like. So I just try and share my story because all I did was I prioritized networking with artists and producers. I tried to meet the artist in person and provided a sound that is similar to what artist would want but also a sound they wouldn’t be used to. I was also confident in sending what I’d want artist to rap on rather than what they already have because if you provide something they could get anywhere else, they can just go pick someone else that had a similar beat. I try and remind people that if it was easy everybody would do it and you have to not only want it but believe it and it’ll come to pass.
What are your plans for the future?
I’m definitely excited for my unreleased placements but I’m also I’m looking forward to all of the artists I’ll get to work with along with constantly traveling to Atlanta, New York, LA and a bunch of other places for music and just the experience. I’ve found some amazingly talented individuals and I’m excited to see how being out in the world will affect my music and my growth as a producer.
