Daily Inspiration: Meet Plugged In With JPlus Podcast

Today we’d like to introduce you to Plugged In With JPlus Podcast.

Hi Plugged In with JPlus, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
From a very young age, I’ve always been drawn to the world of arts and entertainment; film, music, radio, and anything that allowed people to express themselves and connect. My media journey actually started years ago in college, when I launched my own online radio show, I’m Just Saying, which I hosted from 2015 to 2018. That experience really shaped my voice and sparked my love for storytelling and conversation.

Fast forward to 2022, and stepping into podcasting felt like a natural evolution. The idea for what eventually became the Plugged In Podcast with J Plus actually came from an assignment I completed at Clark Atlanta University. What started as a class project turned into a full creative vision, and by end of the year, we officially launched. In 3 years, we’ve grown into an entire network of content; building community, amplifying stories, and giving people a platform to be heard.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The vision was always clear, but naturally there were roadblocks along the way. Some of the biggest challenges were staying consistent during slow seasons, navigating technical difficulties, and handling so much of the work on my own. But now, thanks to my team Jala, Jeremiah, Da’Ja, Autymn, Gabe and Jon and the creators who’ve opened their doors to us like Culture Lab ATL and Blk Castle Media those struggles are no longer standing in the way. We operate as one, working together to bring the vision to life. It truly shifted from “Me” to “We.”

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the owner of Lead By Example Media and the creator of the Plugged In Podcast. Plugged In is dedicated to spotlighting the next wave of influencers, entrepreneurs, and personalities. The name Plugged In represents exactly what we do: connect the dots, bridge communities, and amplify voices through our platform.

One of the things I am most proud of is building a space where people can be seen, heard, and celebrated. Our platform has become a launchpad for emerging talent, and we have been able to shine a light on incredible creatives while collaborating with a wide range of inspiring individuals. That impact and connection is what Plugged In is all about.

Something that makes us different from others is our unique way to promote upcoming talent and business.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I believe luck has shown up in both good and challenging ways throughout my life and business. The “bad luck” moments usually came as delays, roadblocks, or situations that forced me to slow down when I wanted to move fast. In the moment they felt frustrating, but looking back, those experiences built my resilience and helped me get clearer about my purpose.

The good luck has shown up as alignment. The right people, opportunities, and resources always seem to appear exactly when I need them. I also credit that to faith. I believe God guides my steps, and even when something feels unexpected, it usually ends up being exactly what I needed to grow.

So yes, luck plays a part, but faith and preparation are what keep me grounded and ready for whatever comes next.
