Daily Inspiration: Meet Quintin Bostic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Quintin Bostic.

Hi Quintin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Dr. Bostic’s dissertation, which helped the greater research community bridge access and authenticity, was among the most downloaded documents in Georgia State University’s history.

It won him the attention of multiple media outlets, including PBS, and the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE), where he was hired as a Program Manager.

RICE helped Dr. Bostic find a gift within himself that he didn’t know he had. A former educator, Bostic was always great at building relationships. RICE has a way of finding gifts in people that they didn’t know they had; for Dr. Bostic, at the behest of COO Shawn Graham, he was promoted to VP of Partnerships.

Bostic excelled in this role, and, second to President and CEO James Bailey, eventually raised the most money in the organization’s history.

These events inspired him to start First Fridays at RICE, a free community-wide conference that connects Fortune 500 companies with the entrepreneurs who can benefit most from their education.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Dr. Bostic studied urban leadership, early education and policy, and his dissertation earned him the ire of the far right group Project Veritas. This group presented multiple challenges to his personal and professional life.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Dr. Quintin Bostic currently specializes in partnerships and major gifts, but is formally trained in education, urban development, and policy.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
James Bailey, President and CEO of RICE, who sought Dr. Bostic out to hire him at RICE.

Shawn Graham – COO of RICE, recommended Dr. Quintin Bostic for the role of VP of Partnerships, a big promotion over his previous role.

Dr. Stacey Frenchly, the Ph.D. advisor who helped him get through the Project Veritas scandal.
