Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Harrison.
Rachel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started assisting and shampooing hair in salons when I was 15 years old. As soon as I graduated from high school, I went into cosmetology school. I graduated in 2011 as a Master of Cosmetology. About a year after that my husband and I had our first child and I wanted to be home with her during the week so instead of working during the week in a salon, I decided to focus on wedding hair and makeup, throughout the past ten years that has grown so much through word of mouth and social media. I am so thankful for all of my clients and people that refer me, without them my business wouldn’t be what it is. I love what I do and I think that is evident and why my journey has been so successful.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I love what I do and look forward to every wedding and client that I get to work with. There has been hard times of working on my feet through four pregnancies, leaving my children and making sure they have childcare when my husband is also at work. It is also stressful at times just wanting to be sure you give each client the best experience possible! Overall though, I feel like it has been a smooth road with very little adversity so I am very thankful.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a hair and makeup artist that comes on site and makes sure you, your family, and your bridal party feel and look beautiful for the most important day of your life, your wedding! I also provide prom hair and makeup services for clients, boudoir hair and makeup services, and hair and makeup services for clients wanting to look extra special for family or personal portraits!
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Family vacations to Rosemary beach with my immediate and extended family every summer will always be the memories I hold dearest from my childhood. We looked forward to our trips every year and my parents really made sure to go above and beyond to make the trips so memorable and special every year.
