Daily Inspiration: Meet Ris MoNae

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ris MoNae.

Ris, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am originally from the Southside of Chicago. I grew up in a rough neighborhood and didn’t have too many people to look up to. I always knew I was different and wanted different. I started working at 16 years old at a boutique. The owner decided to put me over the social media pages for the boutique. She told me if I can grow their page to a certain number, I will get a bonus. That’s really when social media became a thing for me but I still did not take it seriously. It was about three years ago when I decided I wanted to make this a full-time career. I now make money from social media and it supports my lifestyle.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I feel that the path to greatness is always going to be rocky. I have had some ups and downs of course. Most were really my own thinking. Many times I downplayed myself or allowed outside people to dictate how I felt and the way I did things. Once I figured out that I can care less about what others think, things became easier for me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love to say that I do everything! I am a social media influencer, event host and creator of an amazing social group called The Link Up. I document my life and create amazing content that brings value to people or motivates them. I use platforms like Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. I have been able to monetize every platform. I decided that I wanted to share my knowledge and network with like-minded people and decided to create a group called THE LINK UP. It’s a group of women who love to network with others. We go on trips, have dope events and more. I am really proud of the fact I can bring so many people together. I am set apart from anyone else due to how genuine I am with anything I am involved in. I don’t just do these things for monetary gain, this is truly a passion.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Life in general makes me happy. It’s such a blessing to be healthy and alive. I love to go out and just sit in nature and look at all that God has created for us. He literally has given us everything we would need.
