Robin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The journey of My Sista Shea began at the beginning of the pandemic when my oldest daughter Raven was assigned a task to create a business plan for her summer youth employment program. Shortly thereafter we quickly realized that we can turn our dreams into a reality. Fast forward a couple of months later My Sista Shea was born. We realized that a skin and hair care line aligned with our journey because for most of my adult life, I suffered with dermatitis. After trying medication, along with hair care brands that contained harsh and unnatural products, we decided to create our own.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being on this journey with my daughter and seeing the impact we’ve had on our customers has been amazing.
There are so many things that tell us to alter who we are and My Sista Shea is doing the opposite. Our motto is “My Hair Is My Crown, & My Body Is My Canvas”. We believe in embracing who you are and all the things that make you You. Starting with your natural hair and skin. Our products are handcrafted to nourish all skin types and restore its natural glow.
Business hasn’t always been easy but staying true to ourself, and what we believe in along with consistency has been an important factor in our growth. Know matter how far this journey takes us, My Sista Shea will always be committed to using natural products and ingredients.
