Today we’d like to introduce you to Rose Howard.
Hi Rose, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started as someone with a heart for servitude but, for a long time, I didn’t recognize my own potential. Cooking has always been my love language—it’s the way I show care and bring people together. That’s why I created No Taste Like Home, a catering business built on honoring the beauty of multiple cultures through food. The diversity of my cooking reflects my belief that food connects us all, and every dish is an opportunity to celebrate different traditions while creating a sense of home for everyone.
Writing became another outlet for me—a way to inspire women to see beyond limitations and discover their strength. This year, I published my first book, From Bondage to Boldness, which shares my personal journey of transformation and encourages others to step into freedom and confidence. I am also working on a new project—developing healthy sea moss supplements—with the hope of one day expanding into retail production to better serve my community’s wellness needs.
My journey has been about realizing that the very things I once saw as small gifts—cooking, writing, and serving—are actually platforms to impact lives. Today, I find joy in helping people experience healing, hope, and possibility, whether it’s through a meal, a message, or a product that nurtures their health.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. For a long time, one of my biggest struggles was not recognizing my own potential—I served others but often overlooked myself. Stepping into entrepreneurship, authorship, and now product development has required me to push past fear, self-doubt, and the opinions of others. There were seasons when resources were limited, doors closed, or support was scarce, but each challenge taught me resilience and perseverance.
Another struggle has been learning balance—juggling family, business, ministry, and personal growth hasn’t always been easy. Yet even in those challenges, I’ve seen how God uses the hard places to refine and strengthen me. Every setback has shaped the boldness I walk in today, and those struggles are what allow me to connect with and inspire others who may be facing their own.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work spans several passions that all connect back to one purpose—serving and inspiring others. Professionally, I serve in the field of behavioral health, where I play a leadership role in supporting families and individuals through mental health services. This work allows me to help people overcome challenges, find stability, and move toward healing, which is deeply rewarding and aligned with my heart for servitude.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was a quiet child with a big heart for others, but I didn’t always see my own worth or potential. I often felt overlooked and carried insecurities that made me question my place in the world. Even then, I found comfort in cooking and creating—it was my way of expressing love and care when words didn’t always come easily.
As I got older, those early struggles shaped my testimony. What once felt like weakness became the very foundation of my strength. Cooking grew into a passion I now share through my catering business, and the pain and challenges I faced gave me the voice to write my book, From Bondage to Boldness, to inspire other women. Today, I see that the seeds of who I was as a child—sensitive, nurturing, and creative—were always pointing me toward the path I walk now.
