Daily Inspiration: Meet Roshonda Kelly

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roshonda Kelly.

Hi Roshonda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Heavenlys 305 started as a birthday gift to my wife and co owner kita. I asked what she wanted for her birthday, her response was out of the ordinary. She told me she wanted to open a business. One that would not only benefit her dreams but would push me into my destiny as well. With her having a live for decor and all things beautiful and me having a love for cooking. We decided why not let people experience heaven on earth. We started this in tampa fl. We started by selling plates to co workers at work. Then things got super busy where i found myself calling into work to cook for people. The pandemic hit in 2020 and the city was in a uproar due to George flyod. We started feeding the protesters as a part of our no. Profit that we also have. That took us even more into everyone wanting our food. As the pandemic went on. We had to move back home to miami. Our family took ill we had to make a tuff decision. After getting back to miami we set up a relaunch for our business. We had a photo shoot. At one of Miami premiere locations. The house of ethnicity. I cooked food for the shot at this beautiful mansion. Which happen to be owned by the famous casting director lashawnna stanley. After the shoot there was all this food just left. So she asked if they could eat it and i of course obliged. After she tasted the food she called me and said hey you are my personal chef from now on. Every event she had she called on us. From that moment we have been booking all most everyone that came to miami. It was rrally up from there. Being the most sought after chefs in miami crowned the brunch queens we did not let up. We offered beautiful set up and amazing displays of delicious foods of all kind. Coming from miami we was very well diversified in all cuisines. This only opened us up to a bigger audience. In 2024 we made the crazy decision to relocate to Atlanta only because everyone that came to visit miami from Atlanta came to us. We wanted to expand our company and offer Atlanta that Miami flavor.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A smooth road has been the farthest thing from what we experienced. Being a lesbian couple with a business that had god as our forefront has not been easy. Unlike other chefs when you book with us its not all about the food a decor. Its about the service and the worship experience we deliver as well. We bless the food and give god glory at every event. So we encountered push back and judgment because we are lesbian. We have had to fight to keep our company from people who wanted a piece of it. They tried to take it from us. The road has been a bumpy one for sure. But we trust God and his process. We stay true to who we are. We always come out on top because we lead with dignity, compassion and transparency. Treating everyone we serve as family. Be honest having no hidden agenda. The goal is to offer heaven on earth. We do that at all costs.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My wife and I partner on delivering an experience. Id be remiss if i did not say that kita my wife was not the key to our success. People eat with the eyes first. She bings the mind blowing presentation of the food to life. With the beautiful set up centered around each guest individual personality. We specialize in delicious food that is super appealing to the eye. We provide soul food, Caribbean, seafood, cuban food etc. you name it we do it. To ice the cake we offer a brief but powerful worship experience. That you can only get when booking with heavenlys 305.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
We guve all the glory to God first for giving us the gift and anointing we have have. We is the sum total in all that we are. Nevertheless we have had some mentors such as lashawnna stanley who took a chance on us when no one knew our name. She taught us and gave us advice that help catapult us into success. We are truly grateful to her. However id have to give credit to my grandmother who i watched cook and serve people her whole life. It was her that lit the fire in me to not just cook but to serve Gods people. Everything i know i know from watching her. My wife always says how she would watch her mom decorate the house and make nothing out of something.
