Daily Inspiration: Meet Roubens Paul

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roubens Paul.

Hi Roubens, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Born on Monday, August 27th, 2001 in Seaford, Delaware. At the age of three, my mother moved to Douglasville, GA where I attended North Douglas Elementary, transferred to Bright Star Elementary, went on to Stewart Middle School and successfully graduated the Class of 2019 from Douglas County High School. Growing up wasn’t always easy for me and my siblings due to the fact my beautiful mother was a single mother of 4 after the passing of my father early in 2001. Though she was a single mom, my mother always made sure we had what we needed to succeed in life and so did the community. As school started every year and holidays would come around, it was though for my mom because it was just her and four of us. I started planning and Created FORTHEKIDSGA INC, 501(C)(3) non-profit organization around April 2020 and successfully made it public on May 16, 2020. However, it took a few months for it to get a legal 501(C)(3) status. My idea of creating this non-profit was to simply give back and be able to reach out and assist less fortunate individuals with different obstacles that may be causing them to struggle as I could relate to some of those obstacles growing up. Shortly after posting the creation, I began to receive unconditional support from family, friends, former teachers, online viewers and even community leaders. With the support of those individuals, FORTHEKIDSGA INC was able to host our very first successful event which was our first Annual School Drive on July 30th, 2020, sending more than 200 kids in Douglas County back to school with school supplies.

Upon the successful completion of the event, we caught the attention of many, and donations started to pour in for our Annual food drive which would be hosted in November of 2020. Personally, giving back is big to me and I never thought my organization would become so successful so early. As we continued to plan events and them being successful, ideas became bigger than just helping children and we began to feed the homeless Downtown Atlanta. Along with staff members and volunteers, we have successfully fed over 250 homeless individuals. Many more events such as Christmas Toy drives and Painting with the kids have also been successful. I, Roubens Paul and FORTHEKIDSGA INC Staff got here today and are standing tall by the support of individuals the community, and by respecting our mission which is to “educate, inspire, and empower youth through character building, innovative thinking, and support”. Though we have a long way to go and many more lives to touch, I would like to say confidently that WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED. To close, FORTHEKIDSGA INC will strive each and every day to make a positive difference in the lives of the kids and individuals who need it most. The challenges children face inspire us to continuously concentrate on satisfying their needs. We will achieve our goals through hosting special events and public awareness campaigns.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I could honestly say so far, regarding receiving donations and support, it has been amazing. The more support and donations we receive will give us the resources to help and touch more lives.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Upon graduating from Douglas County High School, I attended WGTC to study criminal justice. Soon after, I stopped and began my Law Enforcement career as an FPS (Field Protective Specialist) with the Marta Police Department. I am currently trying to continue my law enforcement with the USSS. I do a lot of helping with the community as well as trying to enforce laws and prevent crime. I’m also a Notary Public. I’m known for being friendly and helpful as well as being a leader. I’m proud of what I have accomplished so far being that I’m only twenty-one years old. What sets me apart from others is that I’m a leader and am willing to go out of way to help others no matter the cost. My duty on this earth is to help others and be a role model and make a difference in my community.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The characteristics that are most important to my success are my leadership, self-confidence, Aspiration, Drive, Patience, Discipline, Integrity, willingness to learn, Responsibility, self-reliance, optimism, passion, creativity, and resilience. These characteristics are what has got me to where I am and to where I am going to be in the long run.
