Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Marcus.
Hi Ryan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
For as far back as I can remember, I’ve always had an eye for the arts. From music to singing to writing to acting, I enjoyed being in front of the camera and a part of the creative process. Throughout my school years, I was constantly a part of chorus, participating in fashion shows and talent shows, acting in school plays and part of my video production program. I went to college, earning my degree in music and minoring in communications. As I’ve lately, I’ve worked with the streaming network WatchACTV acting, writing, directing and producing a few web series. I’ve also worked with other creators around the Atlanta area in independent films and projects as well as fashion shows and prints.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say it’s been smooth but the hardest part has actually been getting out there, pushing myself and ceasing the opportunity. This industry is 50% talent and 50% networking. There are so many opportunities out there but you’d never know if you don’t put yourself out there. Fortunately, I’ve had the opportunity to be in contact with good people and driven creatives that I can continue to work with together and all how the same mission.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a singer, songwriter, writer, director, actor and producer. I’m currently in the studio working on my EP, hoping to release in 2023. I’ve been a part of several web series and independent films. I’m starred in the web series “H.O.E”, “While You Sleep”, and most popular, “The Mister” through the WatchACTV network. I’ve also written, directed and produced the show “Faith, Hope and Love” on the same network. Lately, and my most pride and joy is my show “The Chances We Take”, which I wrote, produced, directed, edited and starred in on WatchACTV. We are currently in pre-production for season two. I’ve also started in “Aspired” by Lanking Films and several other independent films by Janet Productions.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Drive, determination and a true pleasure and passion for what it is you actually do. If you don’t love creating and the process, you won’t make it. Because the process is 90% of the job.
