Daily Inspiration: Meet Sabah Suzie Merheb

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabah Suzie Merheb.

Hi Sabah Suzie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Sydney, Australia, and I’m a first-generation Australian with a Lebanese background. I’ve been traveling back and forth to America from Australia since 2012, but been based back and forth between Sydney and Atlanta since 2016. Music has always been my passion, and I have studied it for the majority of my life. I completed a double major in music and media communication & journalism and worked for MTV as a production assistant and for Universal Music as an A&R assistant before launching my own brand and music channel, Gin & Juice TV.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been so smooth. I grew my channel from the ground up on my own since 2017, and in January 2020, after gaining over 1 million total views, my channel was hacked, forcing me to start all over again and re-upload each video. I lost many years worth of hard work, but I stayed strong and kept going.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m just a fearless suburban girl from Sydney, Australia, traveling the world and uncovering new music worldwide. I shoot interactive interviews with artists and frequently travel to get raw and unique content. Apart from the interviews, I attend concerts and festivals and shoot backstage segments with your favourite artists.

I’m most proud of being asked to conduct interviews for the ARIA awards on the red carpet shown on Australian national television.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Apart from music, I’m an animal lover, activist and environmentalist who travels the world and often contributes to working with the conservation of wild animals abroad and doing volunteer work. I believe in the ethical treatment of animals and sustainable living. One of my hobbies is scuba diving and I plan to meet as many marine animals as I can and would love to open up a marine conservation as well as a cat sanctuary.
