Daily Inspiration: Meet Sandra Heard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Heard.

Hi Sandra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started modeling my freshman year of college through an organization called models in business at the University of West Georgia. After joining the organization, I realized that Print and commercial modeling was my passion. I then furthered my research and created my portfolio as my first step of getting started with Modeling. I then continued with freelancing while pursuing an agent.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been as easy as I thought it would be. It takes hard work and dedication as well as a lot of time. While traveling along this road, you will get many no’s but at the end of the road, you will eventually get a Yes. I have learned that you have got to stay consistent at something that you are very passionate for. As for me, I am a college student and because I am passionate about modeling, I have missed out on a lot of events that have been held on campus such as basketball games, football games, etc.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a model. I specialize in print work as well as commercial work. I am known for print work. I am proud of how hard I have been working and how wonderful each and every photoshoot has turned out. Something that sets me apart from others is that I do not stay inside of the box I always step outside of the box and each and every one of my photoshoots tells a story.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I do not believe in luck; I believe in blessings from God. God has blessed me in so many ways. He has blessed me throughout this journey by placing the right people in my life. I have a whole team supporting me my mother which is my stylist, my sister which is my make up artist and my dad, who make sure I get to my destinations safely. And my mentors who so happily to be my photographers. I thank God for all the opportunities and blessings that he has given me during this journey.
