Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hailo™ is a relationship-based, ongoing support service that tackles the weekly to-do list in your home. The traditional household is changing- wives and moms are taking pride in their careers, dads are taking on more of the home workload, and individuals are focusing on their health and their communities. Several households struggle with keeping up with the day-to-day tasks. This pours over into their career and their relationships which creates stress and chaos and affects their performance. How do they get all of this done? Delegation!
I started college in 2012, started nannying for two families to get through school, and realized that I wasn’t really watching kids a lot of the time. I was going to the grocery store, organizing the linen closet, unloading the dryer, and a variety of other tasks around the home. I noticed the relief in the homes after I began helping get the daily tasks done. People trusted me, they loved coming home with no to-do list, and they started focusing more on their health, their marriages, their kids, their careers, and their communities. I did some research and realized there wasn’t a service that catered to these households, so I decided to create my own!
Hailo exists to better society. It exists to support mental and emotional health in your home. Our clients have a reliable and trustworthy right-hand to tackle the ongoing list of monotonous tasks: laundry, dishes, tidying, organization, meal prep, errands, childcare, and animal care. You have the same person on the same schedule to provide predictability and ongoing support.
Our clients have stressed the fact that they love forming a relationship with their Angel. Their Angels gets to know them, their household, and their needs, leading to quicker shifts and more predictability in support.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In 2019, we had 24 loyal weekly clients and 8 Angels hired to tackle their weekly to-do list in the home. When COVID hit, we went from 24 clients to two in a matter of two weeks. I had to let go of all but one Angel due to lack of demand. I had to quickly come up with a plan as I was also student teaching and had to figure out how to keep my income and my company. I decided to pivot quickly and provide virtual learning pods for our clients who were struggling with WFH and remote learning with kids. We stayed afloat and I hired a few more Angels to keep us above sea level in 2020/21 and then slowly returned back to our regular services.
I had the privilege of providing education options for some kids, save parents time and money, and everyone was happier at the end of the day!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Our community consists of busy individuals and families who struggle to keep up with their daily tasks while balancing their careers and personal lives. They often feel overwhelmed and stressed by the never-ending to-do list in their homes.
We understand that many have tried using on-demand services or other quick fixes, but we believe that building a relationship with our customers is the key to meeting their needs. That’s why we provide a trusted and dependable individual, known as an Angel, who becomes familiar with their household and can predict their to-do list.
Unlike traditional outsourcing or hiring a full-time employee, our fractional Angels provide personalized support that is tailored to each client’s specific needs. We take care of everything that their regular deep cleaner doesn’t do, and we even offer deep cleaning partners for our current clients.
The feedback we’ve received from our clients has been overwhelmingly positive. They appreciate the relief and peace of mind that comes from coming home to a clean and tidy house, with all their chores taken care of. They have more time to focus on themselves, their relationships, and their overall well-being.
Our service has been instrumental in allowing our clients to spend an extra hour at work, join social activities, prioritize their fitness goals, or simply have quality time with their loved ones. By gifting back time, we aim to help mend relationships both within and outside the household.
The most amazing story: We had a dad come home from work, drop his bags, walk into the kitchen with teary eyes, and say, “Thank you so much (Angel). This service is saving our marriage.” THIS was the day I realized how powerful delegation was and how important we are to our clients.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
I started my business, formerly Angel Assistance, in 2016 to address a growing problem in today’s dual-income households. With busy schedules and multiple responsibilities, people are feeling overwhelmed and struggling to keep up with everyday tasks. This takes a toll on their mental and emotional health and affects their overall well-being.
During my time as a nanny in college, I saw how much relief and positivity it brought to families when I helped them with these daily tasks. They trusted me, enjoyed coming home to an organized space, and had more time to focus on important aspects of their lives.
Recognizing the need for a service that caters to these households, I founded Hailo™. Our mission is to provide reliable and trustworthy assistance for tasks such as laundry, dishes, organization, meal prep, errands, childcare, and animal care. Our dedicated team of Angels takes a personalized and relationship-based approach, ensuring that each household’s unique needs are met.
