Daily Inspiration: Meet Scott Robison

Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Robison.

Hi Scott, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My Journey into the Home Service Industry

My journey into the home service industry began unexpectedly after being laid off in 2008. At the time, I had spent ten years in the insurance world as a Customer Service Rep, Sales Rep, and eventually an Account Manager. Insurance was never my passion—it was simply a career that paid the bills. After the layoff, my first instinct was to purchase and run an insurance agency since that’s where all my experience was. Fortunately, the timing and economy made securing a small business loan nearly impossible, and looking back, I see that as a blessing in disguise.

Around that time, my father-in-law noticed that a window cleaning franchise had made it onto the Fortune 500 list. I didn’t end up buying into that franchise, but it sparked an idea. Window cleaning was a business that didn’t require huge overhead and seemed like something I could start on my own. Of course, “starting your first business” is never simple, but compared to other industries, it was a path I could realistically pursue without employees or office space.

In 2010, Win Clean Plus was born. I started small—hanging flyers around neighborhoods, walking into local storefronts to ask if they needed their windows cleaned, and hustling for every opportunity. My original goal was straightforward: support my family. But over time, what started as survival turned into passion. I found joy in building relationships, serving homeowners and businesses, and learning from others in the industry who shared the same drive.

Since then, Win Clean Plus has grown far beyond what I imagined in those early days. We now offer window cleaning, pressure washing, and gutter cleaning, with a dedicated in-house team and extra vans on the road. We’ve been honored with awards and, most recently, the opportunity to share our story here in VoyageATL.

What began as a setback in 2008 has turned into one of the greatest blessings of my life. I love what I do, I love the people I’ve met along the way, and I can’t imagine doing anything else.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like many home service businesses, ours is naturally cyclical. Residential work tends to slow down during the winter months and again in late summer, which makes it challenging to keep a steady flow of jobs and ensure our team stays busy year-round. Rather than viewing this as a setback, I see it as an opportunity to adapt and grow.

One way we’ve tackled this challenge is by building stronger relationships with commercial clients. By expanding into storefronts, offices, and property managers, we’re able to balance the seasonal dips in residential demand and keep our team working consistently. It’s still a work in progress, but each year we’ve gotten better at smoothing out the seasonal ups and downs.

What I’ve learned is that obstacles are often disguised opportunities. The key is to stay flexible, listen to what the market needs, and be willing to evolve so that the business—and our employees—can thrive no matter the season.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At Win Clean Plus, we specialize in window cleaning, pressure washing, soft washing, and gutter cleaning. The majority of our work comes from window cleaning and pressure washing, with gutter cleaning becoming especially popular during the fall and winter months.

What I’m most proud of is that this business was built entirely from scratch. Nearly 16 years later, we’ve grown into a trusted name in Metro Atlanta and have been honored with awards for Best Window Cleaner, Best Gutter Cleaner, and Best Home Service Company.

What truly sets us apart is the way we operate. We are an employee-based company, not a subcontracting service. Every technician is part of our in-house team, carefully trained and background-checked so that our customers can feel safe and confident while we’re working in their homes. That commitment to trust, consistency, and quality is why so many of our customers return year after year.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I’ve always believed that personal growth goes hand in hand with business growth. Some of the books that have had the biggest impact on me include Good to Great, The Ultimate Blueprint for an Insanely Successful Business, and the classic Think and Grow Rich.

When I’m on the road, I enjoy listening to the WCR Nation podcast, which keeps me inspired and connected to others in the industry. And when I get some downtime, my guilty pleasure is scrolling through Instagram—it’s my go-to app for both entertainment and ideas.
