Daily Inspiration: Meet Shalom Owoeye

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shalom Owoeye.

Hi Shalom, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi, I’m Shalom, the photographer behind Beauty Captured. I’ve been doing photography since 2020, and officially started building my brand in 2023. For me, photography is more than just taking pictures, it’s about bringing light, joy, and self expression to every shot. I love capturing little moments that tell real stories and reflect who you are. Beauty Captured is all about creating an inclusive and welcoming space where you can be your true, authentic self. My goal is to make every session a fun, comfortable, and memorable experience. Over the years, I’ve continued to grow and refine my craft, and I’m passionate about helping each client feel confident, seen, and celebrated through my lens.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped me grow both personal personally and professionally. One of my biggest challenges, I faced has been learning how to balance school and my passion for photography. There are times when deadlines and assignments compete with editing sessions or shoot. Although this was a challenge, it has taught me the importance of time management and learning to prioritize. Even with the challenges, I’ve learned to use every opportunity whether it’s in class or behind the camera, to sharpen my creativity and discipline. is all a part of my journey and I’m grateful for how much I’ve grown along the way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a photographer and creative director. My focus is creating a comfortable and safe environment for my clients and allowing their personality and confidence to shine through each photo. What size me a part is my ability to make each session feel personal and effortless. I do that through helping my clients choose a perfect location and guide them with poses to bring out their best in inner self. I’m especially proud of the gentle connections. I’ve filled with my clients and the amount of engagement of my work that I received online. Is incredibly rewarding to see how my art connects with people and recognition I get from my photos.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memory is visiting Nigeria to see family. I was born there, so going back, allowed me to reconnect with my roots. Help me learn more about my lineage and really experience my culture. It was so special spending time with family. I haven’t seen in a while and deepening that connection. The trip help me understand more about who I am and where I came from which continues to shape me to the person I am today.
