Hi Shamara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I feel that I have always wanted to have something to say or feel like I add value to anything/something and be wise in various aspects. I just appreciate where I am today as an individual because sometimes, we struggle with being our TRUE selves.
It’s nothing like just being yourself all day and not having to dim your light or feel like you have to prove to others that you belong in the room. The thing I like the most about myself is I can see good in anyone but it’s just a matter of what controls you the most, the evil or the good.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
What road has been smooth? Of course, not but as always, you just have to continue to push forward and push through it.
If you KNOW that it’s for you, then you KEEP GOING! The no is just a part of your story, your testimony and it’s only going to push you to either find another way or go even harder.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a creative and I own Sham’s Glam which is an accessory business where we specialize in custom inspirational bracelets.
Although we are keeping that concept, we are expanding to more custom memorial items for our loved ones that we have lost. What I am most proud of is the progress that the pictured jewelry has made. We have incorporated new ideas, and I am excited to share these new items.
What sets me apart from others is that everything is handcrafted and truly made with love and you in mind. I hope that you can feel me wrapping my arms around you!
Networking and finding a mentor can have a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My advice would be to just find and follow someone who is doing something similar to what you are doing. See how you can better take notes and learn from them. Ask the questions if they don’t gatekeep……and see what knowledge they can give you or see what courses you can take under them if offered.
You have to put yourself out there or else others don’t know what you do or what you have to offer. Some things you may have to do for free or smaller fee to just “get your feet wet” but the learning experience is what you are here for. Those are the things that have worked for me.
