Hi Sharon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always believed in destiny, and it seems mine has been intrinsically linked to the arts and technology. Growing up, I was enamored with theater, immersing myself in the world of performances and plays. However, life’s circumstances nudged me towards another passion: technology. This fascination led me to pursue a technological education and eventually, to teach technology to engineers. This unique blend of skills and experience made me an ideal fit for Microsoft.

At Microsoft, where I thrived as a Senior Technical Account Manager, my journey took an exciting turn. I began to explore the intersection of design and technology, reigniting my artistic side. I started dabbling in website development and graphic design, which allowed me to fuse my artistic roots with my technological expertise.

After a rewarding stint at Microsoft and leading the Marketing department at ECS Learning Systems, 2021 marked a pivotal moment for me. I launched my own venture, McFarlane Marketing LLC, a digital marketing agency that embodies my passions. Our mission is to craft stunning, technologically advanced solutions that not only set our clients apart in the marketplace but also drive conversions.

Today, McFarlane Marketing has a footprint across the US and Canada, catering to clients who aspire to elevate their businesses and captivate new customers. We specialize in creating engaging websites, devising impactful email marketing campaigns, establishing robust branding strategies, and managing social media and graphic design for small to mid-sized businesses, startups, and personal brands. Our team, a cadre of top-tier experts, is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions that help our clients achieve their business objectives. At McFarlane Marketing, we don’t just market; we create digital artistry that resonates and delivers results.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Navigating McFarlane Marketing has been a journey of triumphs and trials, each a crucial lesson in the complex world of technology and business. As CEO, balancing every aspect of the company has been challenging, with each decision potentially shaping our future.

Initially, my significant challenge was underestimating the value of my time and getting too absorbed in detailed design work at the expense of other key business areas. Additionally, keeping pace with rapidly evolving technology trends requires constant adaptation and learning.

Realizing the need for a more streamlined approach, I pivoted towards establishing efficient processes within the company. This shift involved integrating automation across various functions, significantly enhancing our in-house build processes. It allowed us to operate more effectively, scaling our operations while maintaining the quality and innovation that McFarlane Marketing is known for.

Today, our market strategy is sharply defined and communicated across our team. We remain dedicated to our core passion – crafting exceptional digital designs. But more importantly, we’ve created a collaborative ecosystem that values connection with our clients, partners, and industry peers. This balance of technological expertise, efficient processes, and a human-centric approach has been the cornerstone of overcoming our challenges and driving success at McFarlane Marketing.
