Daily Inspiration: Meet Sharon Mae King

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharon Mae King.

Hi Sharon Mae, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started SharonKingWorldWide with a clear mission: to inspire and empower children with special needs to become authors of their own stories. As a mother to a child with ADHD and extreme agitation, I experienced firsthand the challenges parents face navigating education, healthcare, and advocacy. I wanted to create a platform that not only supports children with special needs but also uplifts their creativity, confidence, and self-expression.

Over the years, I expanded SharonKingWorldWide into multiple areas: publishing, motivational content, educational resources, and advocacy programs. We’ve grown from a personal mission into a movement helping children write their own books, teaching them life skills, and creating a community that celebrates their unique abilities. Today, I’m proud to say that SharonKingWorldWide empowers families, encourages self-expression, and continues to advocate for special needs children in meaningful ways, while also inspiring others to embrace their own leadership and creativity.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, my journey hasn’t been smooth 20 years ago, I was homeless not once, but twice. Those were some of the darkest moments of my life, yet they became the foundation for my strength. Life has a way of testing you, but it’s in those trials that we discover our true power.

As you grow and rebuild, you’ll shed people, situations, and habits that no longer serve your purpose. At first, it may feel personal, but it’s not it’s part of your journey. Every loss is a lesson, every challenge a chance to rise higher than before.

Through it all, I never gave up. I never stopped trying, learning, or leveling up. Every setback became fuel, every obstacle an opportunity to become stronger, wiser, and more resilient. Growth doesn’t happen in comfort it happens when you keep going, even when it feels impossible.

To anyone reading this: don’t quit. Life will push you, test you, and sometimes break you but your perseverance, faith, and courage will carry you forward. Keep moving, keep believing, and keep rising. The life you dream of is waiting on the other side of your struggle.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At SharonKingWorldWide, my mission is to inspire and empower children, especially those with special needs, to embrace their uniqueness and become authors of their own stories. Through creativity, education, and advocacy, I provide tools, resources, and guidance that help children express themselves, build confidence, and see their own potential. SharonKingWorldWide is more than a platform it’s a community where children and families are supported, encouraged, and celebrated.

Through SharonKingWorldWide Publishing, I’ve taken this mission even further by giving children the opportunity to write, publish, and share their own books. I’ve personally authored four books myself, each one focused on empowerment, resilience, and motivation, showing that hard work and determination truly pay off. I aim to lead by example, showing children and adults alike that with passion and dedication, anything is possible.

What sets me apart is my commitment to hard work, authenticity, and results. I don’t just talk about empowerment I live it, every day. Whether it’s building a platform, publishing books, or mentoring children, I pour my energy, focus, and heart into everything I do. I believe that success is earned, and I am proud to say that every milestone I’ve reached is the result of relentless effort, learning, and growth.

Ultimately, I’m most proud of the lives I’ve touched and the opportunities I’ve created for children to see themselves as authors, leaders, and creators. Through SharonKingWorldWide and my work as an author, I’ve built a platform that inspires, uplifts, and transforms, and I continue to push boundaries to ensure that every child, parent, and community member knows that their dreams are valid, achievable, and worth fighting for.

And while I’m proud of all I’ve accomplished, I firmly believe that my best is yet to come.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I haven’t been to your city yet, but from what I’ve seen and heard, I love its energy, creativity, and sense of community. It feels like a place full of passion, culture, and people who are making things happen and that really excites me!

As for what I like least…well, since I haven’t experienced it firsthand, I can’t say for sure. Every city has its challenges, but I’m looking forward to exploring, meeting people, and seeing everything your city has to offer up close. I have a feeling I’m going to love it!
