Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherica Brown.
Hi Sherica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Tres Kay Beauty was born from a shared desire to help women discover what makes them feel beautiful and empower them to fully embody it. When I first started my beauty brand in 2022, I launched with just eyeshadow because it’s the product I personally connected with the most. I’ve always loved how wearing eyeshadow transforms my look and boosts my confidence, so it felt natural to begin there. Within six months, I expanded into lip gloss because customers were asking for products that could complement their eye looks. A year later, I added blush to complete the face routine. Each addition came from listening to my audience and creating products that aligned with both their needs and my passion for enhancing natural beauty.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced challenges early on. One of the biggest struggles was managing so many responsibilities at once, product development, branding, marketing, and fulfillment. Fortunately, my partner stepped in to help, which made it easier to divide tasks and keep the business moving. Another big challenge up to today is product sourcing. Finding reliable suppliers who met my quality standards, offered fair pricing, and could scale with the brand took time and a lot of trial and error. There were delays, minimum order issues, and times when samples didn’t match what I envisioned.
Funding was another challenge. Expanding from eyeshadow to lip gloss and then blush required careful budgeting, testing, and up-front investment. I had to be very strategic about inventory and reinvesting profits.
Marketing also came with a learning curve. Understanding our target audience, building trust, and converting engagement into sales took time and constant adjustment. But every struggle taught me something valuable, how to be resourceful, how to listen to customers, and how to grow the brand in a smart, sustainable way. Those challenges helped shape the business into what it is today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a mom, wife, and self-proclaimed beauty enthusiast, I created Tres Kay Beauty not out of a desire to follow trends, but out of a passion to help women feel beautiful, empowered, and seen. I wanted to create something that felt luxurious but accessible—products that enhance, not hide. Women are already powerful. Beauty should be the reflection of that, not a mask for it.
I am on a mission to remind women that they don’t have to be anyone else to feel beautiful. In fact, your beauty becomes more powerful the moment you embrace your individuality.
We specialize in high-performance, clean beauty products made with natural ingredients that are cruelty-free, paraben-free, and gluten-free—because what you put on your skin matters. Our formulas are crafted with care to enhance your natural beauty, not cover it up.
Created for the modern, beauty-conscious woman who values quality, transparency, and self-expression, Tres Kay Beauty offers luxurious, accessible essentials that fit seamlessly into your everyday routine.
Our mission is simple: to inspire confidence and celebrate individuality—one clean beauty product at a time.
I also work a 9-5. I’ve spent over 20 years working in a dental office, developing strong organizational and customer service skills. At the same time, I run my own beauty brand, which has strengthened my experience in business management, marketing, and client relations. Recently, I moved to Georgia, which has been an exciting new chapter both personally and professionally. As a mom and wife, I’ve also honed time management and multitasking skills. Balancing all these roles gives me a unique perspective and skill set that I bring to every opportunity.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memories are from growing up in Jamaica. I loved spending time at the beach, enjoying the sun and the ocean, and riding my bike around the neighborhood with friends. Those simple moments of freedom and adventure really shaped my love for being active and appreciating life’s little joys.
