Daily Inspiration: Meet Shymara

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shymara.

Hi Shymara, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am an author and literacy advocate proudly working here in Georgia, where I am dedicated to promoting literacy and meaningful connections through storytelling. I began writing children’s books a few years ago after noticing a growing need for stories that support literacy development, family bonding,especially within blended families,and lessons around responsibility and courage.
Through my work, I aim to reunite children and families through books that spark conversation, build confidence, and encourage a love for reading at an early age. Storytelling has become my way of creating safe spaces for children to see themselves reflected, understood, and empowered.
My larger goal is not only to increase literacy access, but also to open doors for local and emerging authors, helping them believe that their voices and stories matter. By partnering with schools, community organizations, and literacy programs, I hope to continue expanding opportunities that bring books, education, and inspiration directly to children and families.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Have hit some bumps in the road especially with schools having funds for author visits and being open to events

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in the medical field i guess thats where.my compassion for others is rooted from. I am most proud of taking the leap of faith and becoming a self published author and now having successfully published two books with a 3rd one in the works. What sets me apart I’d say is I like to get creative and create my own events that no one has done before and step outside the box.

How do you define success?
Success to me is the ability to believe in endless possibilities and always learning
