Daily Inspiration: Meet Tai Anderson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tai Anderson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am an author, actor, producer, model, and former professional dancer from Denver, Colorado. My performance career includes coaching, choreographing and judging auditions & competitions for high school, college, and professional dance teams. I culminated my career dancing for the Denver Nuggets of the NBA.

My acting career includes projects such as “Paradise” and “The Writer” starring alongside rapper/actor Lil Zane. My film “Distorted”, which was on B.E.T. on Demand, is a psychological thriller in which I wrote, produced and lead an award-winning cast. An episode of TV One’s “Fatal Attraction”, “The 4th Quarter”, and “Elicit” round out my most recent projects, with The 4th Quarter being my directorial debut.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road. With acting, there’s always more No’s than Yes’s. You find an agent, submit for a role, audition, the audition, then audition again, but that’s the job. I’ve been blessed to be with the same agent for the last seven years and she keeps me auditioning. Another beautiful thing is that I’ve been able to work with Tavares Wilson and Rodney Jackson of 480 Films, who have invited me into the fold. Since teaming up with them, I’ve been able to stretch myself from being just an actor to also being a producer, writer, and director on several projects.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve done a few projects over the years, but Paradise, which is currently on Tubi, and our newest short film Forever In A Day have to be my favorite more recent films. I also authored a book entitled The Grown Woman’s Guide To Getting Your Life Together. It’s available now on Amazon and I am so proud and excited about the response it’s received so far.

How do you think about luck?
I’d say luck has played a great role in my life and acting. For every one thing that seems to not go well, God shows me fifty other things that are going well. Even when I lose, I win because God has been just that amazing. From meeting amazing people to opportunities I’ve had, things I’ve learned…it’s all been such an incredible ride. So, I guess that’s not really lucky, but blessed.
