Today we’d like to introduce you to Te- Raye.
Te- Raye, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m from Atlanta, GA and grew up in a musically inclined household. At age seven, wrote my first song and have been writing and singing ever since. I remember waking up early to hearing the radio playing and hearing my mom singing as she dressed for work, which in return peaked my interest to sing and write.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
All roads are somewhat bumpy and hard to navigate but grateful for YaH’s grace along the way. He’s helped me stay grounded and focused. The music industry can be very fickle and misleading sometimes, so I always look to Him to guide my footsteps in this industry.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a musical artist and songwriter who values my gift and uses it to uplift my listeners. I love creating music about love, self worth and life’s adversities because we all go through trials and tribulations some point in our lives. That’s why when I write, I always look for YaH’s guidance to help tailor my messages because you never know how it may help someone.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck at all. I believe in the Most High so I know that through Him all is well. With this mindset, it has made me have a “set a part” mindset as an artist in this industry. I tend to move differently from the mainstream, which in return I hope that my listeners value and recognize this and continue to rock with me.
