Daily Inspiration: Meet Terrion Crook

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terrion Crook.

Hi Terrion, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Well 1st thank God he put my Mom and Pops in the same room or else I wouldn’t be here to even tell the story LOL!! My name is Terrion Crook, also know as Mr. Thank Yooouuu. My transitions over the course of my life have TRULY been a faith walk, every space I’ve worked in, every room I’ve been in, every person I’ve encountered, just the whole process of my maturation has been special. I’m the oldest child and grandchild of 5 sisters who I love dearly. Family is everything to me and one of my greatest assets to my success. Thank God that he placed me in good soil with a loving family, because it has allowed me to see what my God given purpose of sharing love and gratitude all over the world. I remember being in elementary school and my teacher asking me “what would you want to be when you grow up?” my response wasn’t the normal responses of the careers nurse, doctor, firefighter, or police officer, by the way I’m 38, so being an entrepreneur wasn’t “a thing” then LOL, but my response to her question was “IDK, I just want to help people.” That response has led me into spaces where I would be doing just that!! I served as a Sheriff Deputy at the Dekalb Co, Sheriff’s Dept for 8 years, served as a security officer at Emory Hospital, a trainer/ fitness enthusiast for 4 years, even became a published author of a positive affirmations journal titled “To Love A Better You.” I share that to show that my answer to the question has come to fruition as I continue to navigate through life and grow myself spiritually, mentally, physically, relationally, and financially. Not only does my family deserve credit for my walk, but the leading woman in my life has been a TREMEDOUS and pivotal part of my walk. I could write a book about how God prepared her for my life. For every person that we encounter, no matter the season or reason for the interactions molds us into the people that He created us to be!! For that I’m grateful. “An attitude of gratitude is nothing without two words…THANK YOOOUUU!!!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Uhhhhh smooth?? Definitely not, when you operate in the space of what the world is telling you, good or bad, the direction or path you’re suppose to travel through becomes distorted, because there are too many voices telling you what you should be doing and how you’re suppose to live your life based on their thoughts and experiences, but when when you quiet all the noise and hear what God has in store for you the way you approach the challenges of life become different. The challenges are ALWAYS going to be there, if we don’t face any challenges how will we grow? How will we get better if there weren’t any challenges? How can we properly reach the top if we never see the bottom? No one who has reached any level of success without challenges. The peaks and valleys wouldn’t be what they are without adversity, success is NOTHING without failure. So the next time a challenge is in front of you, welcome it cause it will never stop coming as long as you’re growing and getting better.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Published Author, Gratitude Specialist, and a Motivational Mentor. I specialize in sharing God’s love and gratitude with the world. The two most powerful emotions that one can possess outside of authenticity. What’s been instilled in me even before I knew my name is a gift from God, and what do we do with gifts? We share or pass them along to other people who are deserving of them. As we all are products of Him, every person that I come in contact with is deserving of the love and gratitude that God has put in me. If I was to say what I’m proud of, it would be the everyday answered prayer of me asking God to use me as the vessel I am here on this Earth. It’s been on a more frequent basis that people interact with me and tell me that something I’ve said has been an answered prayer for them. What sets me apart from others is easily my authenticity!! The way I genuinely show people love is a gift for me. I’ve had friends tell me “I watch how the room shifts when you enter and leave them, you always leave the room better than you found it and that’s powerful.” Everybody has a special role in the garden, we have to participate in all the ways when growing our own garden, but there’s something special we do that helps other peoples garden grow. Some are good at plowing and preparing the soil properly, some are the sunlight for the beauty to be seen under the bright rays, but me, I’m the water, I naturally pour into people with love and gratitude for them to have good soil.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Gratitude and having a servant leader mentality.
