Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiana Rose.
Hi Tiana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I began modeling in 2006 which was unexpected because I was really quiet growing up. I did my 1st shoot and noticed that posing came natural for me. Realizing that this was something I loved, I decided to take classes to perfect my talent. From here on out, I became in demand in my area. I was featured in many things and loved the runway so much so that in 2010 I started producing my own fashion shows. I wanted to give aspiring models a platform to be seen. The beauty of my shows is that 90% of my models had never walked before so they received training from me. My goal was to help them build confidence that would last on & off the runway. Outside of modeling, my productions had a bigger meaning behind it. I call it “fashion with a purpose.” With each show, I gave back to the community in numerous ways while also spotlighting social issues, bringing it to the runway in a creative form.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are a lot of moving parts when it comes to producing a fashion show, I would know because I’ve played literally every role; talk about a One Woman band. It took a while for me to build a team as dedicated as I am. Also, being the perfectionist that I am, I want to make sure that my hand is in everything because I know how I like things to be. When it comes to working with models, you’re dealing with multiple personalities in groups which can be difficult at times because personalities clash. But when people have a respect for you, they respect your space and your business and that becomes less of a worry. I’ve been lucky to have those types of models. I am a creative. So I’m capable of doing many things but choosing just one can be extremely hard!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am most known for being a model & fashion show producer from the Bay Area (California).
Since moving to Atlanta, I’ve had time to make the big decision. March 2022, I will be launching Model Development & Confidence Building classes for women.
Each model will receive the proper training, be prepared with professional comp cards for agencies & will always remain on my call list for any upcoming work! Including fashion shows produced by me.
I have worked in front of the camera as a model, behind the camera as a photographer/videographer, I’ve worked in the fashion show production as the director, model coach, etc. so it’s safe to say that I know what’s expected on all sides.
What were you like growing up?
As a kid I was quiet, tomboyish and fashion was the furthest thing in my mind. It wasn’t until I got to ninth grade that I started being interested in myself. I was the “selfie queen” before it was even a thing lol my friends will tell you. Eventually, I took a photography class and fell in love with that temporarily. Modeling was always my passion.
