Daily Inspiration: Meet Tiffany Garcia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Garcia.

Hi Tiffany, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I remember being 20 years old and home from college for the weekend. There were so many thoughts rumbling through the halls of my mind. They were not thoughts of academics or extracurricular activities. They were thoughts of stories meant to touch and inspire the hearts of readers. Though I had no official training or background in writing, my fingers took me to places that only dreamers go, and that my friends is where my writing journey began.

Fast forward nearly twenty years, the stories haven’t stopped. Yet in that time, the purpose behind them was discovered. My desire is to esteem others to find and solidify their identity and pursue their God-given purpose. Whether it’s fiction or nonfiction, the hope, encouragement, and nudges to pursue your next resonate and at times leap from the pages.

My latest book is entitled, Where Have All The Good Men Gone? I’m a single mom of four and have a story that I could tell! Well, actually, I did share a bit in the book. The heart of the matter is that good men exist, and if desired, there is one searching and waiting for you. This book continues the conversations that many women find themselves having and answers some of those questions that the heart is pondering like, “Will it ever happen for me?” Some of the feedback received from my readers is that this book helped to change their perspective on singleness, dating and even reopened the possibility for them that they too could find their person.

Along with writing, I have an apparel line, Tiffany Lyn Co. It too aligns with my passion for encouragement. And our theme is, “While life is passing, don’t forget to live.” We only get each day once. And in each day, knowing who you are and what you were made for is the recipe for greatness. So that’s what we aim to display and esteem, your greatness.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There is a poem that I had to commit to memory in high school. It was the Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. The essence of the poem states that there were two roads in life, one easy and green, the other overgrown, less desired and less traveled. My journey to where I am now has not been easy. It has been a road of unexpected events, challenges and one that has required great faith.

Being someone that dreams big and desires to leave a legacy for the next generation requires fortitude and resilience. Nowhere in my initial dreams did I see myself raising four young children as a single parent following divorce. And after all the years of postgraduate study, I didn’t see myself starting over in a completely different field as an entry-level employee when my life and its responsibilities were definitely on a mid-career level. The initial vision that I had as a young college undergrad to be a CFO or brokerage partner rivaled with reality. Change was knocking at my door and I had to answer even though I didn’t have any answers to how all of this would work.

How would I balance it all: a new career, building a business, being a writer, showing up for the people that need me most? The thoughts were resounding. In it all, my personal commitment was to show up each day as the person I am and want to be, give my best, and when in doubt, believe that I can do this, take a deep breath and keep pressing forward.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Being able to provide a fresh perspective to others through my writing is very rewarding. It could be from a blog post or one of my books, but having the opportunity to touch the heart of a person I’ve never met and possibly inspire them in a way that’s beneficial is more than I can ask for. Making things better through creative expression than they were before is my hallmark. An inspiring word in the right time is a gift I want and intend to share lifelong.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I’m a woman of faith, so a great deal of inspiration comes from devotions, pastors, and motivational speakers.
