Daily Inspiration: Meet Tom Cheshire

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tom Cheshire.

Tom Cheshire

Hi Tom, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m an artist and a singer-songwriter. I started writing songs in the mid-90s. I started painting a few years ago. I put the words “I Choose Awesome” on my paintings to inspire people and spread a positive message. I have a new album coming out in early 2024.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I certainly have had my ups and downs but overall, it has been a great ride because I’ve learned so much. I’ve learned to trust the process and try to get something and learn something from it all.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have been writing songs and performing on stage for more than half of my life now. I put four records out under the name West End Motel. We put out a record on the Warner Bros label in 2012. It was a one-record deal. I put out my last record with the band independently in 2018. I’m putting out my first solo record in early 2024. It is called “Everything is New Again” by the Tom Cheshire Band. It is ten songs, some are brand new and some of them are old songs from my 25-year catalog reimagined. I think it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I can’t wait to share it with the world.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Never giving up, persistence.
