Daily Inspiration: Meet Try and Farajii

Today we’d like to introduce you to Try and Farajii.

TRY FARAJII

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Peace to everyone reading this we just wanna say that we love what we do and we know that you will too. Tryfarajii is the name that defines us, but it is more than just a name; it is an acronym that means “To Really Yearn For A Real Authentic Journey In I”.

We’re from St. Louis Missouri, we met when we joined our high school step team called the “Sole Steppers”. After high school, life took place, and we moved to separate states, Try moved to Vegas, and Farajii moved to Florida and in experiencing our lives separately. We lost connection with each other, which we think created magic, because ten years later, when we re-connected that fire started to burn again and it became about our voices being heard in all aspects but really in music!

TRY: Dancing was actually my first love I remember being at my family reunions or birthday parties waiting on the dance battle segment cause I was going to show out; it did not matter what song was played. As far as singing goes, my music influences were Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Aaliyah, Missy, Mother Erykah Babu, SWV, Dru Hill, Toni Braxton, Prince, The Clark Sisters. I believe right now I am allowing myself to be all that I know in every aspect of art to paint the bigger picture.

FARAJII: I grew up in a household where everything from Alexander O’neal to Maxwell, Earth Wind and Fire, sam cooke, Brian McKnight, Ginuwine, Prince, Toni Braxton, and others were constantly played.

It’s literally all I remember about my childhood, music was ALWAYS around. There is a home vintage video of me at eight months, yes eight months! Waking and running around dancing to Sam Cooke. So it’s definitely just who I am.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road is always smooth depending on how we look at the stones we have laid. We view life in the same aspect! How we look at our path or road will determine if it’s bumpy, smoove, long, or short. That in itself has been the real struggle; everything that happens on the outside such as bills, studio equipment, wardrobe, gas for driving to shows, purchasing tracks from producers, etc. all are a part of the road. We can let it stress us or not. We choose NOT!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
WE LOVE MUSIC! Music is our first love, the language we speak, the water we drink, and the food we it. Our specialty in Music is keeping our music fun, we completely understand this beautiful gift and talent; therefore we approach creating music with that mentality.

We sing, write, rap, produce, dance, paint, and roller skate. All these gifts are who we are, so we make an effort every day to be conscious of them and exist as them.

We are most proud of us in all honesty. Both of our roads to where we are now are extremely similar, we have done shows, our music is being heard and we are receiving extreme love in return, and through it all we continue to WANT to go!

What sets us apart is our way of living and thinking! What that means is we wouldn’t be able to be the “Artists” we are without being ourselves. The way we communicate, meditate, eat, and workout the way we view life in general is the why? The way we write our music, pick our tracks sonically, choose our clothing, and sing the way we do, it all encompasses our Artistry!

How do you think about happiness?
We as ourselves individually make us happy. We know that being happy is a choice like everything else in life.

When we are creating music we feel great it’s a euphoric feeling that words can’t describe really, but us being happy is totally up to us!
