Daily Inspiration: Meet Tyler Wrighten

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Wrighten.

Hi Tyler, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started making beats roughly around the age of 12, learning from my older cousin Wille Will, who was known in the area for his musical talents. As I got older, my love for music grew & I never stopped making instrumentals, determining that I wanted to be a producer! Once I graduated high school, I went to Claflin University to study business and marketing. The skills, techniques taught, & support of friends not only helped me promote myself but pushed me to start Kash Kamp Worldwide, a musical conglomerate & urban streetwear brand. I have released music produced by myself & some Fall/Winter streetwear pieces under the Kash Kamp umbrella. I have future plans to grew the presence of Kash Kamp in the streetwear fashion realm and in the music industry.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been the smoothest road paved, but I have no complaints. The way I see it, everything I went through prepared me for where I am & what’s to come. My struggles literally built my character & it holds a lot of weight. For the sake of being vulnerable, I’d say one of my struggles is wanting to help my community more than I’m currently able to.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in making Hip-Hop/Trap instrumentals. Some people have compared my beats to the sounds that come from Memphis & Atlanta but honestly, they just haven’t fully grasped how complex this Carolina sound is. I’m more than just a beat-maker though, people in the city may know me for my beats, but others know me from past business endeavors, seeing my face around the city over the years & for helping someone they personally know with their dreams. You can find my instrumentals by searching “MocoMitch” or “MocoMitchBeats” on YouTube and Instagram.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is you have to believe in yourself & actually put in the work. I’ve seen people before me that were in position slack off or get comfortable with their position and then lose it before reaching their full potential. The way I see it, as long as I go full throttle and bet on MYSELF every time, I can’t lose.
