Hi Valentina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Valentina, a 28-year-old graphic designer originally from Caracas, Venezuela, now based in Atlanta. I left Venezuela at 22 to seek new opportunities, and every challenge along the way has helped shape me into the strong, courageous, and determined woman I am today. Moving here on my own, I learned the language and adapted to a new environment, and I’m proud to now help small businesses grow, just as I built mine from the ground up.
My connection to creativity has always been a part of me, but it was at 24 when I fully embraced it and pursued my passion for graphic design. Since then, my journey has been a constant exploration of creativity, from designing visual identities to developing unique content for social media. I specialize in helping entrepreneurial brands stand out with fresh, innovative designs that truly reflect their vision.
The process of transforming ideas into visual solutions that bring brands to life excites me every day. I’m passionate about creating impactful identities that not only look great but resonate with their audience. I’m thrilled to continue this creative journey and look forward to helping even more businesses grow with the power of design.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the hardest parts of starting my own business has been that I taught myself everything about graphic design. Without a clear guide or steps to follow, like you might have in a university program, things can often feel overwhelming. On top of that, there’s been a lot of internal work. I’ve struggled with impostor syndrome, questioning whether I was truly capable. But over time, I began to believe in myself and realized that I am really good at what I do.
After years of practice, I learned how to manage clients, deliver quality work, and navigate the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. I’m incredibly proud because everything I’ve achieved has come from my own efforts and dedication.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a creative at heart! I specialize in designing impactful visual identities, particularly for small businesses and entrepreneurs. My goal is to ensure that every visual element of a brand tells a story that resonates deeply with its target audience, helping it stand out in a meaningful way.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me to elevate their businesses. Knowing that they rely on my expertise to enhance their brand is incredibly rewarding.
What sets me apart is my guided and transparent creative process. I take the time to explain each step clearly and in simple terms. As a self-taught designer, I’ve mastered the fundamentals and learned how to break down complex concepts, making branding more accessible to entrepreneurs. This personal approach allows me to tailor the process to each client’s unique needs, ensuring they not only understand every decision but also feel supported throughout the entire journey.
What makes you happy?
I’m happy when I go on walks with my dogs, spend days at home watching movies with my boyfriend and friends, and have calls with my family in Venezuela. I’m a very family-oriented person, and living without my family in a country that isn’t mine has made me value the family I’ve created here.
