Daily Inspiration: Meet Whitney Hubbell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Hubbell.

Hi Whitney, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story begins early—when I was just seven years old. My parents owned and operated Hubbell Jewelry Design, a family-owned jewelry store that is still open and serving the community today. From a young age, I was immersed in what it meant to build and sustain a small business. I grew up watching my parents serve customers, build trust, and invest deeply in their community. Those early experiences shaped my understanding of hard work, entrepreneurship, and the importance of relationships long before I realized it.

Inspired by a desire to help people in a hands-on way, I pursued a degree in healthcare and built a career as a laboratory scientist. For 15 years, I worked across four major hospital systems in the Atlanta area, gaining invaluable experience in patient care, diagnostics, and the inner workings of large healthcare organizations. Healthcare was meaningful and rewarding—but when COVID hit, it also became a turning point.

The pandemic prompted deep reflection on purpose, balance, and how I wanted to serve others moving forward. That reflection led me down a different path—one rooted just as strongly in helping people, but in a more personal and community-driven way.

During that time, I helped open a tattoo studio with a close friend, built on the foundation of faith, restoration, and bringing God into the space. The studio focused on rebuilding people—not just through art, but through conversation, encouragement, and connection. That business remains open today and continues to be an important part of my journey.

Ultimately, I felt called to help people in yet another way—by supporting their bodies, mobility, and overall well-being. That calling led me to help open StretchLab Newnan, where my focus is providing access to assisted stretching as a proactive approach to mobility, flexibility, and long-term health. StretchLab allows me to merge my healthcare background, business experience, and passion for people into one mission-driven space.

In a short amount of time, the impact of StretchLab Newnan has exceeded expectations. Despite being fully open only since April 2025, the studio was honored with Best of Newnan 2025 and Best of Georgia 2025, reflecting the incredible support of our community and the dedication of our team.

Beyond the studio, I am deeply committed to community involvement. I proudly serve as a Chamber of Commerce Champion and Ambassador, actively supporting local businesses through networking, mentorship, and collaboration. In January 2026, I was honored to receive the Great Heart Award from Coweta Magazine, recognizing leadership, service, and a strong commitment to our community.

Community building has always been at the heart of what I do—whether that’s helping individuals move better and feel stronger, or helping fellow business owners grow through connection and support. While the recognition and awards are meaningful, what matters most to me is impact—showing up, giving back, and helping others thrive.

Through assisted stretching, business networking, and community outreach, my goal remains the same: to build people up, strengthen our community, and create spaces where growth—physical, professional, and personal—can truly happen.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Changing careers during COVID was not just a professional shift—it was deeply personal. After 15 years in healthcare, walking away from a career I had built with stability, identity, and purpose was both terrifying and uncertain. I knew I was being called to something different, but that didn’t make the leap any easier—especially during a time when the world felt unstable and small businesses were struggling to survive.

Bringing StretchLab to Newnan came with its own set of challenges. We weren’t just opening a new business—we were introducing an entirely new concept to the community. StretchLab Newnan became the only official assisted stretching location in Coweta County, and the only business solely dedicated to one-on-one assisted stretching. For many, assisted stretching was unfamiliar, misunderstood, or seen as “extra,” even though mobility and flexibility are foundational to long-term health.

Before we ever opened our doors, it was clear that education had to come before growth. Alongside a small but passionate team of three, I spent months having conversations, answering questions, and showing up—over and over again. We walked into local businesses, offered stretches to employees, and stretched their clients simply to let people experience what assisted stretching could do for their bodies. There were days when it felt like we were starting from zero, wondering if the message would truly take hold.

Those early months were exhausting, humbling, and often emotional. There were moments of doubt—times when I questioned whether I had made the right decision, whether Newnan was ready, or whether we would ever gain enough momentum. But there were also moments that made it all worth it: seeing someone stand up straighter, move without pain, or realize for the first time that their body didn’t have to hurt to function.

Slowly, trust grew. Word spread. People came back—not just once, but again and again—because they felt heard, cared for, and genuinely supported. What started as a leap of faith became a mission rooted in service, education, and community.

Today, StretchLab Newnan is not just a business—it’s a place where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to take control of their mobility and wellness. Every challenge along the way helped shape who we are now. The struggle wasn’t something to overcome—it was the foundation that made this work meaningful.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work centers around helping people move better, feel better, and live healthier lives—while also intentionally serving and building a strong, connected community. I run StretchLab Newnan with a dedicated team, the only official assisted stretching studio in Coweta County dedicated solely to one-on-one assisted stretching. We specialize in improving mobility, flexibility, and overall body function through personalized, hands-on stretch sessions that meet people where they are physically and help them move forward safely.

What I am known for is education, accessibility, and genuine care. Assisted stretching was a new concept to many in our area, so a large part of my work has been teaching people why mobility matters and how proactive care can improve quality of life at any age. I am deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of the studio, client experience, and community outreach—ensuring that every person who walks through our doors feels supported, understood, and valued.

I am most proud of building StretchLab Newnan from the ground up during an uncertain time, introducing a new wellness concept, and earning the trust of the community. Despite being fully open only since April 2025, StretchLab Newnan was honored with Best of Newnan 2025 and Best of Georgia 2025. Personally, I was humbled to receive the Great Heart Award from Coweta Magazine in January 2026, recognizing my dedication to community leadership, service, and making a meaningful local impact.

Community involvement is at the heart of everything I do. I am proud to actively serve Newnan through ongoing partnerships, outreach events, and leadership roles, including my involvement with the Chamber of Commerce as a Champion and Ambassador. Whether supporting local businesses, participating in community initiatives, or helping individuals improve their quality of life through movement, my focus is always on building something that strengthens the community as a whole.

What sets me apart is my unique blend of healthcare experience, business background, and community-focused leadership. With 15 years in healthcare as a laboratory scientist, I bring a strong foundation in patient care and safety. Growing up in a family-owned business taught me the value of relationships and integrity, and I carry that mindset into every interaction. I don’t just run a business—I show up, educate, collaborate, and invest in people and this community long-term.

At the core of everything I do is the belief that when you truly take care of people—and the community around you—growth, trust, and impact naturally follow.

What makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is seeing growth and success—whether it’s my team, our members, or the wider business community. I love watching my staff thrive, gain confidence, and achieve their goals, because their success directly contributes to the success of StretchLab. Equally, seeing our members progress—moving better, feeling better, and reaching their personal wellness goals—is incredibly rewarding.

I also find joy in supporting other business leaders and entrepreneurs in our community, helping them grow, overcome challenges, and create positive impact. Knowing that I can play even a small part in someone else’s growth or success gives me a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment.

Ultimately, it’s about creating a ripple effect—when others succeed, the energy, positivity, and impact expand beyond just one person or one business, and that’s what truly makes me happy. I have to also include my niece, she makes me the happiest!
