Exploring Life & Business with Anne-Lyse Wealth of Dream of Legacy LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anne-Lyse Wealth.

Anne-Lyse, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m Anne-Lyse Wealth, I’m a financial educator, author and podcaster. I started my career as a Certified Public Accountant and have worked in the Finance space for more than a decade. As a Black woman in finance, my concern for the growing racial wealth gap has led me to my mission to increase financial literacy in the Black community. That’s what inspired me to write my first book, Dream of Legacy, Raising Strong and Financially Secure Black Kids, and to begin my journey as a financial coach. I’m also a freelance writer and the founder of Dream of Legacy, a personal finance and development platform. I’m passionate about helping women feel financially secure and build generational wealth on their terms. In 2021, I launched “The Dreamers Podcast” to share stories of change makers and the process behind building their dreams. My goal is to inspire women to bet on themselves and build wealth with purpose.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A couple’s months after I quit my job, the pandemic happened. I also released my book, Dream of Legacy during the pandemic. Being a self-published author comes with its own sets of challenges. In addition, like many people, last year, I had to learn to pivot to build my coaching business online, and be resourceful to launch and promote my book virtually. Also, as a mom of three children (six, four, and four), managing virtual learning and entrepreneurship has been quite the undertaking. But, I have been blessed that my work and mission have been well received.

As you know, we’re big fans of Dream of Legacy LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Dream of Legacy provides customized one-on-one financial coaching for individuals and couples. I believe in meeting people where they are to take control of their finances and build wealth in line with goals and values. Whether is budgeting, saving, investing, credit repair, or getting out of debt, I help my clients set and achieve financial objectives, and develop a mindset conducive to long-term wealth building. The Dreamers Podcast follows the path of experts in various fields and change-makers who bet on themselves to design a wealthy life free of society’s expectations. Guests discuss their journey, as well as their money wins and losses. Each interview provides you with actionable items to help you on your wealth-building journey.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I grew up in Cameroon and France and moved to the United States at 18. In Cameroon, credit was close to non- existent. In France, it was only reserved for major purchases like a house. Growing up in those types of environments is probably why I never got into credit card debt. In my household, my parents didn’t talk about money, I also realize now that it is very common in most Black households. From my childhood through early career years, I was surrounded by people who didn’t look like me. Those experiences have allowed me to realize that in other cultures, conversations and education about money is not as taboo as it is in the Black community. But in order to have generational wealth in the Black community, we need to have the conversations and educate ourselves and our children.
