Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaiah Dunn.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
From NY to ATL to NY and Back. Born in NY and moved to Atlanta in grade school. I started in real estate just before my 21st birthday in NYC while still a full-time college athlete at Tusculum University in Tennessee. I attempted to pursue an internship because I was tired of my previous summer jobs until I realized I could become a licensed real estate agent instead of just running errands for someone. So I decided to take online courses for real estate while being enrolled 18 credit hours and doing spring training for football. I finished the course in three weeks as I needed to take the proctored exam during spring break in Manhattan so I could hit the ground running soon as Summer 2018 started.
Fast forward to now. I am one of the top producers on a team who was awarded top rental team of the year in 2018 at the largest, most known rental brokerage in Manhattan. Our team then moved to a brokerage that is the #1 independent brokerage in the country. Where you must be a top 10% agent within your market to be accepted and this brokerage happens to have offices in Atlanta where I spend a lot of time at. Due to popular demand and my sphere of influence here in the metro Atlanta area. I decided to get my Georgia real estate license as well to help those in need of a seamless home buying and selling process with the use of innovative marketing, expertise, and technology.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Some of the struggles along the way were managing time between class, football, and trying to manage and grow my business from 600 miles away. Also, the pressure of trying to sustain a business in a market where 8/10 agents do not renew their license after year two because they are unable to support themselves.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a licensed real estate salesperson who specializes in residential luxury rentals as well as home sales. I am known for delivering to my client’s listings that they wouldn’t have found on consumer sites, structuring deals that usually don’t happen, and having the market knowledge to help my clients make the best-informed decisions with based on what it is they want and need. I am set apart from others in my industry by my around the clock accessibleness, innovative thinking, and doing what most others wouldn’t do to get a deal done at whatever price point I am working with. Whether it be a $3000 1 bedroom rental or a 2.5M home purchase.
I am most proud that the team brand and my personal brand align with each other as the team I am with is based in Manhattan I will be expanding the team on the ground here in Atlanta by myself. The brand values it’s consistent delivery to clients needs in a professional way with integrity and moral. The team is young, agile, and contemporary. We offer professional service and most importantly expertise when it comes to rental and sales. We are able to help home buyers find their dream home, sellers move on to their new found endeavors and renters feel at home moving them from where they are to where the want to be.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Most important lesson I’ve learned is that if you want something you have to stay consistent. You may fail 1,000 times before you get yourself a big win that takes you to the next level but it will all be worth it in the end. Also, not to be afraid to fail because the quicker you fail is just the quicker you are able to learn.
