Today we’d like to introduce you to Noelle Lucas.
Hi Noelle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Blaze Wellness was established in 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia. One day when we were in our Senior Year at Auburn University, we had somehow come up on the topic of candles. We both loved candles so much and realized that we should try our hand at making some of our own. There aren’t a lot of Black Women or POC in general in the Wellness space. We wanted to create a brand that is inclusive and is welcoming to everyone to explore what wellness really means to you.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I don’t know if we would say we’ve had a smooth road. Having no prior business experience we had to learn all the ins and outs of running a business within six months. We’ve been able to figure out all of the kinks along the way and we continue to do so to this day. 2020, however, has presented a new challenge for us. Many of our suppliers have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and getting all the necessary supplies we need in a timely manner has proven difficult. This year if anything has taught us the ability to pivot and adapt as things change. Though it’s made things challenging and even stressful sometimes, it’s now a skill that has made us better for the future and problem solving as we continue to grow our business.

Blaze Wellness is an Atlanta Based Black-owned and Female owned self-care brand. We specialize in nontoxic, vegan, clean-burning soy-coconut blend candles and are known for the motivational sayings and cute names that we curate for our scents. This sets us apart because it makes wellness and self-care topics more approachable and fun for our customers. We love to educate our customers on ways to take care of themselves and help them to see that there is no one way to do wellness or self-care. It is unique to you and who you are. We are so proud of the community of women we have built around the brand and are even prouder of our dope products and concepts that come behind each one. We also offer custom candles and scents for individuals, companies, boutiques, weddings, and more.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Atlanta is the city that made us. We love how much opportunity there is in this city and how many amazing networking connections can be made here. We love the culture and it’s something that has been embedded in who both of us are as people since we’ve grown up here. Atlanta is the perfect place for creatives and is a great place to build an empire and find your own little community. We love Atlanta but if there was anything we would change it may be that there was less of a competitive spirit. Everyone wants to make it so badly they feel like they have to step on others to shine when really you could help someone or get help if we lost some of that mindset.
