Exploring Life & Business with Rhonda Dinkins of Eklectic by Jeanté Mo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhonda Dinkins.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
This was a dream of my mom Monica Johnson and this is how this began. As a result of growing up in New York City, fashion became my muse, my artistry. So with the influence of a late great aunt and my mom, it became my identity. No matter what course of life I treaded, there was still a yearning for fashion. That coupled with the idea of leaving a legacy for my daughters and generations to come Eklectic by Jeanté Mo was birthed. Jeante’ Mo derives from my middle name and fragments of my daughter’s middle name. I’m so grateful for my children who helped birth what once was a dream into Reality!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has definitely been a challenge just trying to find our place in this fashion industry however, it has been worth it. With there being thousands of online boutique’s we wanted to not only render service but we wanted to give our consumers an experience! This is what set us apart.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
This industry is cut-throat. No one was willing to help. My family and I became very resourceful in building this business from the ground up. You never know how equipped you are until there is no one else to rely on. My advice is to research, research, research! No one can run your business but you. You are the Brand!
