Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex And Della Henry
Hi Alex and Della, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Be Nice Properties started with a simple belief that everyone deserves a place that feels like home, no matter how long they’re staying. My husband Alex and I are both military veterans, so we understand how important comfort, stability, and community are, especially when life keeps you on the move.
When we first got into real estate, we realized people weren’t just looking for a place to sleep. They wanted an experience, a space that felt intentional, welcoming, and stress-free. That’s what inspired us to create Be Nice Properties. We wanted to provide thoughtfully designed co-living spaces, long-term rentals, and vacation getaways that make people feel at home the moment they walk in.
It hasn’t always been easy. The short-term rental world is always changing, with new rules and shifting trends that keep us on our toes. We’ve learned to stay ahead by diversifying and making sure we follow all the guidelines so we can continue offering amazing stays no matter what comes our way.
At the heart of it all, hospitality is about people. We have built a reputation for creating five-star experiences by focusing on the little things, like clear communication, smooth operations, and quick solutions when problems pop up. More than anything, we want our guests to feel welcome, whether they are staying for a weekend or making one of our spaces their home for a while.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building Be Nice Properties has definitely been a journey full of ups and downs, but honestly, those challenges are what have shaped us into who we are today. For us, hospitality isn’t just about offering a place to stay; it’s about creating a space where people feel welcomed, comfortable, and truly cared for. And trust me, we’ve learned that lesson the hard way.
When we first ventured into short-term rentals, we quickly realized that there’s so much more to it than just putting a house on a listing. From high guest turnover and unreliable cleaners to unexpected maintenance issues, oh, we’ve seen it all. And let’s not forget about the seasonal slowdowns and market shifts that really kept us on our toes. It forced us to get creative with our pricing and rethink how we deliver the best experience for our guests.
But through it all, one thing has always remained constant: our love for hospitality. Whether you’re a traveler in need of a cozy getaway, a professional looking for a seamless and inviting co-living space, or someone simply looking for a place to call home, Be Nice Properties is here to make sure your stay feels easy and comfortable.
We’re definitely the glass half-full type, so we see every challenge as an opportunity to improve. That’s why we’re constantly refining our spaces, elevating our services, and making sure that, no matter how long you stay, you’ll always feel like you belong.
We’ve been impressed with Be Nice Properties, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Be Nice Properties, we’re redefining what it means to feel at home. Whether you’re staying for a few nights, a few months, or putting down roots for the long haul, our properties are designed to provide comfort, connection, and convenience, catering to travelers, professionals, and those in transition.
We specialize in vacation rentals, co-living spaces (mid-term stays), and long-term rentals, with our guests’ needs in mind at every stage of life:
Vacation Rentals: Perfect for weekend getaways and short-term stays, our homes are fully furnished and designed for relaxation.
Co-Living / Mid-Term Stays: Designed for traveling professionals, remote workers, and those in transition, our co-living homes offer private rooms in shared spaces with built-in community and flexibility.
Long-Term Rentals: For those looking to settle in, our long-term properties provide stability and comfort with the same hospitality-first approach.
What sets us apart is our combination of hospitality with home. Our properties aren’t just places to sleep; they’re warm, welcoming spaces designed for comfort and ease. We build community. Our co-living homes foster connection among like-minded individuals while offering the privacy of your own space. We’re flexible. Life changes and so do housing needs. Whether you’re staying for a weekend or several months, we have a home that fits.
We’re most proud of our ability to turn houses into homes. We say “Stay At A Nice Place” because where you stay should feel just as good as where you’re going. Let Be Nice Properties welcome you home, whether it’s for a short retreat, a mid-term stay, or a long-term chapter in your journey.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Here’s what worked for us, step by step:
1. Lead with value. Instead of just seeking mentorship, think about how you can offer something in return. It might be sharing your own insights, supporting their work, or simply being a good listener. Relationships are strongest when both sides benefit.
2. Be coachable and take action. A mentor can guide you, but you have to be the one willing to put in the effort. When you receive advice, don’t just nod, apply it. Show that you’re actively working toward progress by following up and demonstrating results. Mentors are more likely to invest their time in people who take action.
3. Build genuine relationships. Don’t approach mentorship as a transactional exchange. The best connections often start as casual conversations that blossom into true friendships. Stay curious, ask thoughtful questions, and really listen. Genuine relationships are built on trust and connection, not just on what you can gain.
By following these steps, you’ll not only grow your mentorship circle but also create lasting relationships that truly enrich your journey.
