Exploring Life & Business with Alvin Freeman of Courageous Worship Church

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alvin Freeman.

Alvin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I serve as the inaugural Pastor of Courageous Worship Church. His dedication to the service of the Lord spans over a decade. Pastor Freeman was led to teach the Word of God to in a creative and exciting way so that they would never depart from these teachings. I was a Youth Pastor for almost 9 years. I loved encouraging people and felt the call of God over my life.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Leadership & Business Administration from Beulah Heights University in Atlanta and graduated with a Masters of Business Administration from Strayer University. I went to these various schools to balance my education as well as my ability to work in different markets.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Just like anything it hasn’t been the smoothest of roads. We started off in midtown area as the rent the rent was high. We wanted to stay in that area as much as possible but the rent became too high which led us to moving to Austell, Ga near six flags.
One landlord we had been renting from for a year in Miami Circle told us out of the blue on a Friday night that the no longer wanted to rent from a church and wouldn’t let us in going forward. We always paid on time and cleaned up. That was one of the lowest times in our ministry.
One of the craziests things that happened to us when we were downtown as finding graffiti on our building (formerly 166 16th – where Carvana is now) as people weren’t too happy about a church being in the area. We dealt with it and kept trusting and believing God.
A few years after we moved to Austell the pandamic hit which nearly forced us to shutdown as the attendance dropped and many people never returned back to the church.
We are still having the faith

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
It is our vision to creatively teach and demonstrate the Word of God to inspire men, women, and children across the world to “Live Courageously” for Jesus Christ.

Every church has a mission and vision to wins souls for the Kingdom of God. But churches also have a culture inside of them to help the mission and vision manifest. Our culture focus on what we call C.A.R.E. Which stands for Creative and Inspirational Teaching -Atmosphere that’s warm and welcoming-Restoring faith through Outreach – Exciting youth ministry
