Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Hipple.
Hi Amber, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have been part of the beauty industry since 2015, focusing on eyebrow, body, and Brazilian waxing. In 2021, I took a leap of faith by launching my own solo esthetic studio. This decision led me to pursue further education with professional skincare brands, allowing me to offer high-end facial and skincare services centered around natural anti-aging protocols.
As my business expanded, I sought a larger commercial space to accommodate another Esthetician alongside me. Through networking and befriending a wonderful Nutritionist who owns a neighboring business, I successfully secured a bigger location. Since opening, my business has more than doubled in size, and I now share my suite with one of my best friends and fellow Estheticians, working alternating days to serve clients seven days a week.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The idea of sharing my suite came about after I had to reduce my workload due to a diagnosis of Breast Cancer in August 2025. At 36, I was diagnosed with Stage 3, Triple Negative, Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. I became an advocate for self-exams because that’s how I found out something was wrong; unfortunately, my age meant I did not qualify for a mammogram without a family history or a physician’s referral. Thankfully, I’ve managed to maintain a part-time work schedule, organizing it around my weekly chemotherapy sessions and numerous doctor appointments.
Throughout this journey, I’ve kept a positive outlook, even during a challenging four-day hospital stay when things were dire. I’ve undergone a bilateral mastectomy and have about seven months left of chemotherapy and immunotherapy before I can be declared in remission. My husband, family, friends, and amazing clients have been incredible sources of support. I know that cancer has changed me forever, but one of the silver linings has been the opportunity to slow down and appreciate the smaller details in life.
We’ve been impressed with Dawn Apothecary Esthetics & Skincare, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I specialize in eyebrow, body, and Brazilian Waxing, bikini facials, and anti-aging facials. I’m partnered with professional skincare brands and am able to offer tailored services using clean, natural ingredients and specialized techniques. I genuinely love the business I’ve built and the nurturing environment I’ve created. My goal is for each client who walks into Dawn Apothecary Esthetics & Skincare to feel a sense of peace and that they are the most important person during their appointment. Operating on an appointment-only basis allows me to provide personalized attention from the moment clients arrive until they check out and rebook.
I feel truly blessed to have received multiple awards from 2021 to 2025, including Best Waxing (Macon Telegraph) in the local area and Best Estheticians (Georgia Business Journal) in the state, representing Central Georgia.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Building and maintaining strong client relationships has been crucial to my success in business. Being kind and adding a personal touch truly makes a difference. I sincerely care about each individual who books with me, celebrating their achievements while also providing condolences and a listening ear during their challenging times. My passion for bringing out the inner beauty in each client, and making them feel comfortable in their own skin will keep me in the beauty and esthetics industry.
