Exploring Life & Business with Ambika Devi

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Ambika Devi.

Ambika Devi

Hi Ambika, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My focus has always been respect for all living things and our human relationship with our Earth, the Cosmos, and all of Mother Nature’s creations. I was raised by pacifist parents who planted the seeds of peace, love, and compassion in my heart.

My father taught me at an early age to shoot pictures, not guns. My mother gave me education on the written word encouraging me to love books. Both supported my creative expression. My gratitude for my upbringing radiates from the pages of my sixth book, Cupid is a Bastard, in which I healed my grief for all love lost, turning it around to the importance of self-love. My mission is to teach others to tame the mind, helping people to be happier and healthier.

I was introduced to meditation at age six. From there I became interested in Astrology and Holistic Health. I have a voracious appetite for knowledge and creativity which have gained me multiple university degrees. With 47 years of experience, 13,500 plus hours of study, and over 20,000 success stories from clients, I intend to place clients precisely on target equipped with my Mind-Taming techniques.

I continue to conduct research and further my education adding to my master’s degree in Yoga and Meditation, and bachelor’s degrees in Astrology, and Fine Arts. Repeated themes that appear in my books and in articles on my blog focus on my five pillars which are manifestation, ideation, communication, wellness, and compassion.

My peace-building mission and work with clients reveal true nature so that you can step out of the churning river of thoughts and activity of the mind and stop wearing insane schedules like badges of honor, reinforced with the skills of meditation. My methods ignite your intuition and increase your self-esteem and self-love.

As a Mind-Tamer, I coach individuals and speak to groups on the Mind, Body, and Spirit connection. My tools and techniques come from the science of life which is Yoga. Many have ideas of yoga being an exercise program to help the body become flexible but its true gift is teaching us about what we truly are, our purpose, and the art of steadying thoughts and quieting the mind so that we can find ourselves in the state of Meditation where we witness and become non-reactive.

With my guidance and decades of consulting and counseling, I give you tools that repair communication, increase vitality, heal relationships, and boost your level of happiness. I believe that mindset and limiting beliefs must be transformed to illuminate the path to success. Working with me initiates breakthroughs for businesses, careers, and personal relationships. I provide you with powerful tools that help resolve anger and frustration issues, calm jumbled thoughts, and improve communication so that creativity and productivity are rejuvenated and restored.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Many do not realize that the terms Mind, Body, and Spirit come from a direct translation of the Sanskrit words Yoga, Ayurveda, and Jyotisha. Yoga, though it is seen as an exercise program that shows up in many centers and gyms is a vast tree of knowledge whose roots are the Science of Life. The purpose of Yoga is Meditation.

Once we learn to meditate in a seated position, we then gain the ability to get up and walk through life’s tasks in the state of meditation. This is a non-reactive state of witnessing rather than reacting. Imagine what this world would be like if we all shared this mutual core principle. The most advanced level of the practice of Yoga is the meditative state while the body rests in sleep.

Ayurveda has become a popular theory for health and wellness. In addition to addressing the fact that everything we need to be healthy is in our kitchen, Ayurveda also reveals the best choices in our environment and the physical world. I have spent decades working to help others change their eating habits and develop better ways to relate to themselves and the physical world. This is not an easy task. We easily become attached to behaviors, habits, and traits.

After 21 years of working in clinics while teaching Holistic Health, I realized that our relationship with thought needed to be addressed. People want an instant cure. This often leads to unhealthy choices and addictions. It is easy to become distraught with the idea of changing habits and releasing attachments. Many feel they do not have time to meditate and think they cannot. Promoting the idea of meditation is not sexy and not as effortless as drinking a smoothie or swallowing a capsule. The struggle against routines is arduous. I continue onward, spreading this and providing ways to make it easy and comfortable.

Jyotisha is for Spirit. It is Astrology, the Science of Light and Vibration. So many seem to be afraid of this looking at it with confusion. As an astrologer, a challenge from my past was feeling that I needed to hide this expertise. There were times when I had completely separate websites. I now feel it is time for me to be proud and loud so that others learn to accept that these three sisters belong together.

Yoga, Ayurveda, and Jyotisha are the three daughters of the Vedas. The word Veda comes from the word ‘Vid’ which translates to science though it is more closely related to the idea of frequency, electricity, and the laws of science. These frequencies encompass the waves of energy that produce light, sound, and electric charges. All of nature is comprised of these and the five elements which also form our physical bodies. You can learn more about this in my book, Unfolding Happiness.

My greatest challenge has been to prove to people that this is what we and everything we perceive as physical reality are made of. The mix-up of this philosophy with religion and overcoming misconceived fears has been a steady climb up a very large mountain of confusion. What I want people to understand is that Yoga, Ayurveda, and Jyotisha are here to help us and that they in no way challenge religious beliefs but rather embrace all spiritual paths.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work?

What do you think about happiness?
Creativity tops the list of my passions. This weaves through my books, articles, artwork, photography, and story-telling. Explaining in-depth information about mind, body, and spirit brings me joy. Giving hands-on experiences that create a better relationship with thought and the mind, watching clients transform is a delight as they learn that thought patterns can be witnessed and transformed to create harmonious neural pathways and in turn, increase trust and security in all relationships.

Rewards I treasure are smiles and hugs from participants letting me know that they have experienced the sensation of a peaceful mind, free and clear of chatter. I lift my level of happiness by spending time in nature, breathing in the air and gazing at the changing sky, getting my hands in the dirt of my gardens, traveling, sharing great food with new friends, roller skating, and walking around antique cities looking at architecture and art museums. When I am deeply involved in projects I enjoy taking breaks to bounce on my trampoline and sing.
