Exploring Life & Business with Angie Smith of Alia Skin Clinic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angie Smith.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have a strong foundation in clinical and healthcare leadership: spending over 20 years as a Registered Nurse in the hospital setting in various roles ranging from perianesthesia to oncology research, HR, and leadership. During my role as a Medical Administrator, I had the opportunity to attend a convention on medical devices and enjoy speakers from all over the nation, including nurses! I have degrees in Biology, Nursing, and an MBA in Healthcare Management, but wanted to learn more about aesthetics. This led me to obtain credentials as a Senior Laser Practitioner through the GA Composite Medical Board and AAFP training on neurotoxins and fillers.
I am forever grateful for all the experiences and training that I received along my career path, but I felt compelled to be present with my family, whilst creating a legacy business for my daughters. I parlayed my clinical and administrative expertise into a wellness business that offers everything from advanced lasers and chemical peels to full-body and weight management treatments. My goal is simple: to help clients feel radiant and confident while offering safe care. I founded Alia Skin Clinic in Buford, Georgia, a boutique medspa which combines scientific rigor with nurturing care.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Opening Alia Skin Clinic was both thrilling and challenging—I’m starting in a small space, working and praying to earn every client’s trust through personalized care and real results. With no built-in client base, I wore every hat, from provider to marketer, knowing that word of mouth would be my strongest foundation.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At Alia Skin Clinic, we specialize in medical aesthetics and wellness services designed to help patients look and feel their best. Our offerings range from advanced CO₂ CoolPeel laser resurfacing and chemical peels to injectables, medical-grade facials, weight-loss programs, and regenerative therapies like peptides and vitamin support. What we’re most known for is our holistic approach—we don’t just treat the face, we address the whole body and pair aesthetic care with internal wellness for results that last. What sets us apart is the combination of my clinical background in nursing and healthcare management with a personalized, patient-centered philosophy. Every treatment plan is tailored, safe, and scientifically grounded. Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Alia is growing into a trusted place where people feel cared for and confident.
