Exploring Life & Business with Bella Osor of Purity Nails 21

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bella Osor.

Bella, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in a Nomadic lifestyle in the Countryside of Mongolia. Growing up there, we did not have common goods that are present in many homes in the U.S. such as televisions, refrigerators, microwaves, showers, or proper bathroom facilities. We were taught to be resilient because we had extreme climate changes and our family treasured everything we had including our animals. The countryside of Mongolia is nature in its purest form.

I obtained a degree in 2014 in Public and Business Administration from the Mongolian National Defense University which is located in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. After working for the Mongolian Government for two years, I arrived in the United States in 2016 to achieve my Master’s Degree. In order to fund my dream of attending school, I had to earn my own tuition and so that is where my nail career began. I started from the ground up working in various salons in the Washington DC area. I identified mentors along the way and I learned the good `1and bad of the Nail Industry. I realized that there were many things that could be changed within the industry and that is how I started my vision with “Changing the Perception of Nail Care”! That is how Purity Nails 21 was born. In fact, many mentors provided guidance while opening our salon.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of our biggest obstacles that we are facing right now is finding good Nail Artists who understand and believe in our vision! As a new nail salon, word of mouth is spreading and we do not believe it will take long for others to join us. We’d like to think that we are very unique from other salons. We deeply care about our employees’ well-being as well as our client’s. Our products are sourced from responsible suppliers who believe in cruelty-free, non-toxic, and are 100% vegan. Last but not the least, educating clients on how we are different is challenging. There are still customers who want unhealthy acrylics and/or dipping powders.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Purity Nails 21 is a CRUELTY-FREE, NON-TOXIC, and VEGAN nail salon with USDA certified organic spa products. We are located in the Midtown area of Atlanta. The front of our building faces the beautiful Skyline/Piedmont Park, and our back door is directly on the Beltline. We are setting a new standard for the nail service industry. Our belief is that grooming hands and feet should not compromise health and well-being. We want our clients to feel pampered and know what we put on their bodies while getting services at our salon. Therefore, we focus on providing the safest products on the market with a well-trained and professional staff, following proper sanitation protocol, and creating a soothing and calming atmosphere.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
We have the pandemic and many other macro things going on that we cannot control. Sometimes when you have a vision, you must execute on that vision and take the risk. I am very passionate about proper nail care and I want to share my experience with as many people as possible. We are not just a nail salon, we are focused on proper nail care and relaxation for our clients. Yes, we do Nail Art as well! We want our clients to feel good, relax, and disconnect from the stresses of daily life. Our neighborhood needed this type of salon and so we took the chance to change the perception of Nail care.
